Maybe I'm weird but I love them. I'd sit them next to each other and use them as mini side tables next to the couch. Should I Accept These Mirrored Pedestals? Good Questions |

My sweet hubby was going to do our whole shower surround in hex tiles. He made it about a third up the wall before he said they started burning his eyes and he couldn't tell where the tiles needed to go because of the pattern. He added a chair rail and subway tiled the rest. It's gorgeous, but I doubt I'll be able to convince him to hex tile anything else, ever. Can I Do a Wall Hex Tile For My Bathroom Renovation? We just bought two salvaged slate blackboards, with the intention of turning them into countertops. I got a vintage fan for free that still worked, but I have an incredibly curious cat. I wanted her to keep her paws, so I cut off the cord with wire cutters to totally prevent any possible disaster. It's now a pretty decoration only. Easy Breezy: Decorating with Vintage Fans |

My husband's CPAP has improved both our of sleep and his daily functioning. He's actually getting rest at night which means he can focus on being awake during the day. Sometimes he rips the mask off in the middle of the night and I can always tell the next day, just by his coloring. Love that thing. Testing Products to Stop Snoring |

I know this probably works really well, but I'm just imagining my defiant cat lounging on the tinfoil, basking in the sun like those leathery, oil-covered sunbathers used to to at the community pool. Sassy the sun goddess... Hot Tip: Save Your Furniture & Deter Cats with Foil |

I looked into this idea pretty seriously before tackling my own bathroom renovation last fall. I found that if I was going to make the surround waterproof (by using concrete board behind it, flashing it and that sort of thing), it would be basically the same cost as tiling. Love the corrugated look, but in the end, I decided that tile would probably be a better value because I'll probably try to sell my house in the next few years... I wanted a retro-style fridge but couldn't stomach the $3,000+ price tag. Instead, I bought a curvy Whirlpool and had it painted tomato red at a local auto-body place. I saved about $2,000 and it's freakin' gorgeous. You can read all about the process here: http://www.news-gazette.com/tag/red-refrigerator Fixer Upper: Painted Appliances |

I'm definitely not a clean-while-I-cook gal. Not as efficient, but it means I get plenty of use out of all of my mixing bowls! This is weird and out of the norm, but I like to wash dishes in the morning, while my coffee is brewing. What Is Your Dishwashing Routine? Share Your Tips |

I wanted a Big Chill or Elmira retro-style refrigerator, but couldn't stomach paying $3,000 for one. Instead, I bought a curvy whirlpool and got it painted red at a local body shop. You can see a photo of it here: http://bit.ly/crEhgc Color in the Kitchen: Lively Refrigerators |
