The couple in the first photo don't look very comfortable. While I find these patios pleasing to look at, I also think they are cold and sterile. When I am in my little patch of nature in my tiny Brooklyn patio, I want colors of plants and flowers all around me. Not a cold grey slab.

Move over, I'm joining you on that island. I love eclectic interiors, but this one didn't do it for me. But the space seems great and to each her/his own.

This looks like a very cozy place and is well laid out. But the photos are distracting. Instead of HDR, the energy would have been better spent on removing all the lens distortion.

Love the house, hate the furnishings.

BTW - loved Laurie's work, hated Hildi and thought Doug was kinda a douche-bag.

These photos are manipulated, so you are not getting a true sense of the color. I'm sure they are considerably warmer in tone.

Wow, those are some of the ugliest rooms ever posted on this site - and I've been following AT since 2004. Especially the first photo. It looks like a post garage sale spree. Not that you can't find good stuff at a garage sale, but these pieces look really bad together.

That said, white painted brick can look great. I painted the brick in my farmhouse kitchen and was thrilled with the results.

A group of us in our co-op are planning a progressive dinner after the holidays. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in one apartment, soup and salad in another, then the main course in a third, followed by dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks in the last. And best of all, no driving like in my parents' day. All guests live in the building. If you can figure out how to operate the elevator, you can have another drink.
