Wow that is a little excessive. Here is a toy cabinet with 10 compartments AND a special feature that the child can only get one doll out per row. They must put one back to get another one. This Barbie doll cabinet holds up to 10 collectibles dolls

This grandpa thinks these are good suggestions. I work with both Expedit and Billy from Ikea. I've learned that my grandkids like order just as much as adults. To keep their playroom in order, however, they must be able to see the toys, and each toy must have a specific "home". Otherwise "just clean it up" doesn't mean anything to them.

I've been designing and making toy cabinets that have a mechanism that locks the doors until the child puts a toy back. They quickly learn this and actually appreciate it when other kids come over. They are never faced with the daunting task of picking up a dozen toys at once.

When our grandson comes over we have him use the toys in the living room with everyone around. The challenge has been getting him to pick up. So I designed and built this toy cabinet that helps him keep our living room from becoming a mess.

See a short video here.

Having children play when around adults also helps them share their toys and learn how to treat the toys properly.
