My grandmother used one of these (shaped like a shell instead of a circle) when I was growing up. Eventually when I moved out, she passed it on to me and I absolutely love it. In my opinion it makes the best grilled cheese ever. Calling All Sandwich Lovers! The Return of the Toas-Tite |

what if the problem color is dark brown wood cabinets that you can't paint because you're a renter? My entire apartment is painted in this pale mocha with white trim which looks great in most of the rooms, but not the kitchen. Somehow all of it together ends up looking very dowdy. Anyone have any suggestions to minimize the brown? Or compliment it? The Easiest Way to Make Any Color Tolerable |

This posting is a little deceptive as this class (and the lectures) are about half over. Very disappointing that I was not alerted sooner. Go Back to School! An Edible Education |

They have some great industrial art schools in the Bay Area too- and recently started doing hot glass classes (vs fused glass or neon) at the Crucible in Oakland. Its a pretty sweet set up with great teachers. Diablo Glass School: Glass Blowing 101 |

How much space is on each side of that bed? I have a similarly narrow bedroom and would love to have space on each side, but have been concerned that there wouldn't really be enough space on each side to be practical. Is there a standard amount needed? Rashon's Thrifted Treasures |

I would really like to incorporate tofu into more of my cooking. However, I've noticed that most recipes are for tofu that tends to be firmer than I prefer. I tend to like the really soft kind (think Chinese restaurants) over the super dense stuff. Does anyone have any good tips or recipes to use softer tofu? Terrific Tofu: 5 Tips for Cooking With Tofu |

My boyfriend has these restored neon letters in his room that he primarily uses as light fixtures. Of course, he's a neon artist so he was able to restore them himself, but I think they add a really nice low level light for watching movies or reading. And an interesting decorative element too. I love the cabinets and floor- it must have been a lot of hard work. But you took out the full size fridge! After living with a mini fridge recently for about 4 months, I'm so totally anti. I also think portion control is really important. That being said, I also find that when I am able to cook food that tastes good (good quality and prepared well) I tend to crave things that are good for me- like cheese, legumes (lentils and beans) and fruit. Impressive island! I'm a little confused as to how you guys eat on the elevated tray though- maybe I'm just really short or you guys are really tall because it seems like it would be an awkward height. I was lucky enough to take a cooking class with Marion when I was young (maybe 8?) with my mother and my brother. It was a great experience- and we got a signed copy of this book out of it. It was definitely the go-to breakfast book in our household. Great basic pancake recipe. Cookbook Classic: The Breakfast Cookbook | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

Walmarts food politics are not my primary problem with them (as many, if not most, other grocery stores have the same issue). My issue has to do more with their treatment of their employees and the systematic ways in which they enter into areas and destroy the local culture. I do understand that people shop there and that they do, often, have good deals. That being said, I am unwilling to support a company that cheats their employees and helps push them into near poverty. Walmart: The Newest Champion of Local Food? I made the lemon bread last night. And, while it was warm, it was delicious. However, I brought the leftovers to work today and had a piece. Having it the next day left A LOT to be desired as far as texture. So, you'll have to do as they did- eat it all immediately.
