My daughter has always slept with at least a light blanket but started using a thin quilt at about 6 months old. As for the pillow she was probably nearly a year old before I decided I was comfortable with having one in there with her.

My four year old not only has had sleepovers in our home but she has already been to two sleepovers herself. I'm always prepared to have to go and get her at whatever time she may want to come home but as of yet it hasn't happened.

When we host sleepovers it's usually two other kids (a little boy and a little girl) and we make a big fort in the living room and the kids stay up late eating popcorn and cookies. =)

My stepfather built my daughter a version of the Pottery Barn one for her first birthday. I love it. It's super cute and I think the fact that it was made especially for her makes it so special. =)

The rails are completely unneeded. Total waste of money imo.

My daughter started sleeping in a twin bed with no rails just before her second birthday and has only ever fallen out of it once. Letting him fall out a few times while he gets used to it isn't going to hurt him. And who knows if he'll even fall out at all!

For me it depends. If there's a stranger at the park taking a picture of my daughter I'm going to have something to say about it. We were in a fast food place one time and a woman took out her cell phone to take a picture of my daughter when she was about 10 months old and I flipped out. I find it to be extremely weird and inappropriate.

But..with something like this, with a child be photographed by photographers in school, I don't see the issue. I mean is it getting to the point where we'll be unable to take pictures and use them in yearbooks without parent's consent? I think people take things to extreme too often.

The $120 price tag seems steep but considering that you're getting 145 pieces I think it's entirely reasonable especailly considering the prices of other sets of the same size.

I have no real ideas for you that others haven't already mentioned but a tip is to STAY AWAY from Trex especially on a rooftop deck!

Trex gets HOT HOT HOT! We have over $4,000 worth of Trex installed around or pool and it is like walking across coals in the summer. We keep the garden hose nearby just to cool it off so we can walk across it. The durability is amazing and it feels great on the barefeet when it's not scorching hot but if I were to do it again I'd stay away from the stuff.

Our favorite potty chair was $3.99 at Ikea.

I bought 3 of these. One to keep upstairs, one to keep downstairs, and one to keep in the car. They're cheap and easy to clean. Worked perfectly.
