One company I'm familiar with is College Woodwork (http://collegewoodwork.org/content/view/43/58/). Classic solid wood pieces of exceptional quality. I registered, literally, just to comment on this post. Hopefully to shed some light on this thing. One of my best friends from college is Japanese. She told me that when she first arrived here in Canada, she was taken aback by our washrooms (especially public stalls) because the doors usually had a large space between the floor and the bottom of the door. You see, in Japan it is far more common to have toilets that are almost squat to the ground, so that you would be almost totally exposed if you had a door open at the bottom. With that in mind you can totally see why a man might like to be down much lower to pee, but be reticent to actually kneel on the ground, even in one's own bathroom.
