I've only done one blog post, but I have outed myself on my Business Page (Decorator! Heal Thyself!). Once I put it out there, I feel like I HAVE to follow through.

Apartment Therapy's January Cure
1/18/13 6:17 AM

I think I will be a January Cure Addict.

all of the posts and sharing is so inspirational. I was behind the curve yesterday because I was feeling overwhelmed by my project list...how to decide on one? I'd already accomplished a few small ones, so I thought it had to be an Important Project. Reading all of the posts made me relax a bit.

Today was easier, since I brought three pieces to the framer last week to be refreshed - pieces I love but 2 of them were framed 26 years ago and they looked both dated and tired, one from a few years ago, a Chinese brass lock already matted and framed when it was given to us. The matting overwhelmed the lock, so I'm having it mounted on fabric and put in a shallow shadow box. I'm very excited to see it finished!

We've lived in our 'new' house for a year and a half and I have almost nothing on the walls. I'm really looking forward to hanging lots of stuff on the 29th and making myself 'at home'.

Liveblogging Day 6: Art that Makes You Smile and Makes You Think Liveblogging the January Cure

this post threw me for a loop! Pick one?! I thought I'd already done quite a few...and blogged about the one that ate up the weekend: http://thewritespace.tumblr.com/post/39947475200/hooks-anchors-and-anagrams

Reading what everyone else is/has been doing pulled me in from the ledge. Next up, I'm going to tackle the wine rack that I ordered. Ordering was on my project list, tho I think I was in denial about the fact that I'd have to assemble it. All part of the organizing the storage room project. Though I already started cleaning it out before the directive to take before pictures.

Day 5: Select One Project from Your List to Complete this Month Apartment Therapy January Cure

Loving the Cure.

As if buying flowers could ever be a chore. =)

Appreciate the notion of getting to know your home. We down-sized last year, did some major (necessary) renovations which helped make it 'ours', but even my husband commented the other day, that it's the puttering he's done about the house in the past month or so that's made him fill like it's more intimately ours.

Am doing the Cure on my business FB page - helps me stay committed.

Thanks so much! Keep up the good work!

maybe we're twins separated at birth.

I know a lot of contractors that suffer from this, too. As soon as the initial euphoria of the work has faded, they are on to greener pastures.

Renovation Lessons: Learning To Finish What You Start

I discovered Home Reserve while searching for inexpensive RTA furnishings for a daughter's 3rd floor apartment.

Our first purchase was the Monroe (her choice, not mine - it's a little bulky) and she's had it almost 2 years. It's been assembled, disassembled and reassembled in a new (1st floor!) apartment and looks brand new.

I find it comfortable, not shallow, and the cushions are firm - more like memory foam as noted in another post. It's also used as a guest bed.

Just ordered the Laney for another daughter with a small space and tight budget.

It is what it is - inexpensive seating that performs as advertised. Obviously not designer stuff, but for those on tight budgets and especially with size/moving issues, it's a good deal.
