It is indeed a red bow, but a BOW nonetheless -- on the head, like the big sisters.

It's a girl! I think it would have been a bow tie should they be having a boy.

We've been reading Lyle, Lyle Crocodile lately and it's become a fast favorite. I also second The Incredible Book Eating Boy, and remember Tasha Tudor from my own childhood. Great choices from two lovely ladies!

I'm sure it's still safe Jamieson.

All crib manufacturers and retailers have been effected by the new regulations, even very high end ones. Not to worry.

Very exciting, BUT--- I just clicked through the toys section online, and only some are properly credited. Many give a store where they can be purchased but do not credit the manufacturer at all. Very strange! And sad.

I actually love this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50107744

Most people seem to be going the more subdued direction, but with a frog bed I say keep it fun!

We love Olivia in this house too. So much so, that it's my daughter's halloween costume this year.

This party is giving me ideas for the next birthday! Amazing job.

For birthday parties, how about something on the invitation like "Please no presents, just your presence!" Is that totally corny?

I love love LOVE this! It reminds me of the kind of horror vacui situation I grew up with. It would be great for doodles, sketches, switching up the art work, and my immense postcard collection.

I wouldn't get it because I'm sure it's impossible to fold in the trunk of a car, especially when wrangling two toddlers. I love my citymini double! If all I needed it for was to stroll around though, I'm sure I would love it.

I would have called it the Dragonfly I think, but I also like Iguana, Eagle, Hawk, and Falcon. Donkeys really aren't very glamorous, are they? Not to mention it's politically charged. ;-)

Thanks for having me Ohdeedoh! This was so much fun to write. I love seeing so many of you get inspiration for your children's names from books, and they're such nice names too.

A post on children's book authors is on my list-- I almost included a few here but it just got too long. Eudora and Edwige are a great jumping off point.

Mschatelaine, it's driving me crazy trying to figure out what your children's names are. I'm a big Balthazar fan too.

k1ate-- the building blocks are larger than Duplo blocks (Legos's toddler version) and would not match up. They are softer than Duplos though do good for a baby who's still teething but wants to put things together.

The dump truck and the tool set are some of my favorites from this line.

VERY COOL! I grew up going to Toy Joy and am so pleased to see it's still around. Used to BEG my parents to go there, though I didn't really have to-- it's as much a toy store for adults as it is for children.

Holy Moly! Hello.

I had no idea Ohdeedoh was going to profile my site today. This is very exciting. I'm a huge fan.

Pencils, I did a search for Aurora on YCCII and sure enough your daughter's name featured in the Oct. '09 post: http://youcantcallitit.com/2009/10/29/ohdeedohkiddos-2/

I also picked Aurora as a substitute in my Alternates to Top 100 Names list http://youcantcallitit.com/2010/05/18/alternates-for-the-top-100-names-of-2009/

Pyjammy, is Linus a triplet? I would NEVER leave a Linus out. http://youcantcallitit.com/2010/02/03/ohdeedohkey/

Katie, thank you for doing such a thorough introduction to my baby name website. Such a thrill to be mentioned here!

I'm very saddened that no other hospital in NYC is willing to back midwives so that their clients can have natural unmedicated births.

However, the fact that home births are now illegal may not be a completely bad thing.

I personally know of THREE home births that ended in the passing of the baby, and that's three too many for me. Not fear mongering, just passing along first hand information.

My two hospital births were completely natural and drug free. I appreciated having the medical facilities on hand just in case.

I do think that the C-section rate in this country is abominable and that there ought to be more effort to deliver babies both vaginally and without the help of medicine.

I believe in a woman's right to choose their own birth experience and used to very much support home birth. Sadly, three infant deaths of was enough for me.
