Honestly, now is not a good time at all unless you have capital to invest (that you don't need to pay back any time soon) and are not planning on the store for any personal income whatsoever. You probably can get a deal on rent but you will still need to buy product for your store and there are no deals to be had on products.

I have 2 online stores and a fairly new brick and mortar store. I will be happy to break even on the brick and mortar store for the first year but I don't expect that to happen. In fact, I went into this knowing that it would not happen. For me, it was purely a strategic business move.

Following your dreams is a great thing but now is not the time to quit your job and throw a bunch of cash at a business like this.

The Nixon pattern is a classic MCM iconic pattern that JA just "borrowed". As such, I would not call it trendy and it is not likely to appear dated in the future.

I like Simple Solution for pet stains and odors. It also works well on other types of spills and stains.

I use the Earth Bath shampoo on my Yorkies. it smells great and it stops them from being so itchy all the time.

I have that table with 4 red vintage Saarinen side chairs covered in Knoll fabric around it. The chairs look really good with the table and the upholstered chairs look better to me than the chairs in that picture do becasue the upholstery adds some texture and softens the lines a bit.

I have these for my guest rooms. The ones I have are cool vintage Vegas ones that I bought on eBay though.

I have no clue who the "first decorator" will be but I watched a show on CSPAN (?) about the White House interior last night and I think it is absolutely hideous...and judging from those photos above it always has been! From what I saw last night, the entire place looks like an awful hotel lobby full of overly fussy traditional furnishings.

Bring a small blanket. We flew with our Yorkies to NYC this summer and there was freezing cold air blasting out under the seats where the dog carriers had to be placed. We covered the carriers with blankets and the doggies seemed fine.

We also did small doses of Benadryl. The plane ride itself was uneventful but they got a bit excited in the airport, especially with all of the people trying to look at them.

Yes, I also love the use of the Koko Company pillows.
