Oh yeah, that would disappear very quickly in a city. But WOW! it is a beauty.

Holiday Decor Idea: Oversized Door Wreath

I wish I could see the floor of my laundry room or at least get the door closed (the clothes have blocked the door open) so I can walk by without seeing the HUGE pile waiting to be sorted and washed. It just never goes away.

My dream laundry room would have 2 washers & dryers to try to keep on top of all the laundry. Thank god we've only got 2 kids. I can't imagine what it would be like with more!

Stick to what you like best...black leather and silver!

The area rug is beautiful very organic. I would warm the room up with a gray similar to the light gray in the area rug. Limit any throw pillows (or leave them out all together) and instead use Mongolian Sheep skin throws.

If you can invest in the place do get hard wood but stay in the lighter tones...limed oak or black stained then limed oak.

Your feature wall is the fireplace so you need help with getting the right pieces as it's a large room. Perhaps you can put the TV/sound system on the wall with the stairs so it is not visible unless you are in the room...then get a long long long credenza for the TV.

Now...find a large piece of black & white art (like the wild horses...can't think of the photogs name) for the wall with the TV...or do a tryptic of largish prints.

Think minimal, monocromatic (shades of gray/black), art gallery. Then get the best bottle of champers and invite some friends over...black tie.

Let us know what you'll do!

Hmmm. I would paint the ceiling in a near black too.

Think about a well tailered flannel suit. Gray/Grey (what is the difference?!). I'd recommend painting the cabinet the same as the walls but do the walls in a flat paint.

Mid to dark dark is what I'd like to see...and a larger miror.

I'd get a mirror that would actually be wide enough to cover 1/2 of each window but mounted between the windows. So as to look like it is floating.

Totally loving the bed and armour! Oh to be a rock star or model and have the cash to purchase these pieces for a hard loft.

Very clever!

I'm not liking the ikea'ish glass lampshade with the industrial feel of the pendant though. I'd skip it and do the Edison bulb for sure.

The color combination has been hot for a good 2 years now so no surprise to it in bedding sets and the patterns & stripes are nothing new.

No imitation here. That's reserved for unique design or colour combinations.

Wish I could go sheets shopping too!

Disaster. This is something I'd have done in my 20's when I didn't know any better.

Oh, the trashy magazines too! So perfect for the cabin. And of course really great novels to read...and shelter mags to revisit from the past 2 years and tear out anything you still love.

Red wine, lots of kindling and logs, wine, salmon to grill, more wine, 30 Rock episodes, AbFab episodes, Bombay Saphire Gin, Shweps Tonic and lots of limes...the perfect pillows and supper warm soft blankets and douvets for when the fire finally goes out...and LOTS of ice water to keep the headaches away to start all over the next day!

It's a dream...but with 2 small kids...also a distant dream. 13 more years till the youngest is done high school...whoo hooo!

OMG. I'll never get that photo out of my head...I'm going to HELL!

Apartment Therapy...please don't feel pressured to sensor yourself because *some* people have issues.

I will never go back to a low platform bed...I just bought a 'comfort' height Toto toilet...cause I'm thinking about the future and getting up and down easily.

That's also a big fat NO to water beds too...thank god for Haustens (on a platform...with a boxspring)...yeah, I'm getting old *sob* but not priggish ;)

Damn! That makes so much sense. Wish I'd known before I did my gallery wall a few months ago. Would have reduced the amount of patching/painting required to fix the extranious holes I put in the wall.

Thank you for the tip!

While I could not live in this space myself with the colour scheme I certainly can appreciate it and think it is absolutely lovely!

I have to agree with patrick (the other one)...on the #FAIL...but then I never did like creamsicles.
