I've been ogling this one for a while:

The neighbors have CONSTANT screaming fights (sometimes the cops come), teenagers who blast music incessantly, a screaming baby, loud weeknight parties, etc. I have never once complained about any of it. But now they have complained about my alarm clock. What am I supposed to do... it's an alarm clock and a necessity, it's not like my TV is too loud. Now I wish I had complained about them years ago.

I'm hoping someone can offer some suggestions. I find that florescent lights make me extremely dizzy. As a result, I have yet to switch my home over to CFL's. Does anyone else experience this? Have you found CFL's that don't cause dizziness? Also, are CFL's and regular old Type "A" incandescents interchangeable or do we have to change something within the light fixtures to make them compatible? Thanks!

When I was a teenager I desperately wanted black walls in my bedroom. My mother's compromise was to let me paint just two walls black. It ended up looking a bit odd. I now have very dark grey walls in my bedroom and love the look. I think it's wise to take the plunge and paint the whole room, otherwise the contrast ends up being less than restful.

Magenta/hot pink have been my favorite for years and I've always had trouble finding more adult products in these colors. Very excited.

I recently purchased this one in white for $124 from Overstock. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality (just like the more expensive ones sold at Chelsea Market) and it also came filled, sans smell:

Maybe wallpaper with a large pattern? If you're a renter and worried about permanence, I highly recommend http://www.tempaperdesigns.com. I recently used it and was surprised how easy it was to put up (haven't taken it off yet but I did test it by pulling the corner up and it seemed like it will be a snap when the time comes).

I have approximately the same wall color in my bedroom and, after looking forever for an affordable solution, recently bought the target quilt kelleyk mentioned. It does tie in really nicely with the wall color, though I found I liked it best with some additional white accents.

Really beautiful place. Please help a fellow Astorian out- where did that beautiful orange lamp come from?
