Intelligent, sophisticated design. This took some thought! While I admire the modern posts with white walls, it is a much easier look to achieve than this.

I love it! Too functional???? Best possible design is how it functions living in it... not how it photographs for these pics.

I like the decals or stencils on the wall in your bedroom. The bedroom is my favorite room that you have done.

It looks like you are getting yourself settled nicely. Enjoy your new home!

A few ideas......
round rug on the floor between sofa and firelplace will create a comfortale circle to place furniture around and help break up the angular look of this room. A cream color shag would look nice. Now you have a focal point.
Benjamine Moore Driftwood is very nice neutral for your fireplace with the blues in your painting. It ads color without taking over. It will compilment the sage tile in the fireplace.
Another beautiful neutral for the entire room is BM creamed wheat. It looks great in most all light but is not dark or as harsh as white. Your white trim will pop.

I think the painting is gorgous. What about looking for some old shiny hub caps to accessorize the window wall.

Look for a lg round mirror to go over the fireplace . It won't compete with the painting and will pick up some of its' color

I agree, lose the ceiling light.. If the ceilings are high enough you may have room for a semi flush or chandelier type fixture centered over the round rug arrangement.

Good Luck...I know you will love your new place!!!!

You have a lot of extra space. I would purchase rolling metal/wire shelving available at Home Depot or Lowes. Then inexpensive see through shoe boxes (.99 cents at Walmart) that you could stack by color, style etc. Organized clean and portable. Total cost would be about 100.00

Pardon my ignorance but what is a ceiling track? I hate exposed cords, so other than having the ceiling opened up and an electrician re wiring I have not found a solution for this treatment in an existing bedroom.

Your home is gorgous and perfectly put together. Please do not be offended but it looks like a a preschool to me. This is coming from a mom who may be in that frame of mind!!!!

I love the artwork from the website. It looks like they are very busy with thier art but not as invested in thier home. Decorating and being a painter are two seperate skills.

It seems like a "happy" place. I would add some "wow" black & white mod wallpaper or one with one of your colors to the dining room wall to bring some of your design together. You might consider mirroring the wall to open up the room. I would also paint the railing going up the stairs red to take your eye upstairs and carry on what you have started.
The upstairs is so much calmer...they look like 2 different houses. :)

Laurel it is obvious that you are very creative I would suggest that you edit/remove some elements from your interior design. You may be more comfortable with clutter around you, but I find it distracting and would opt for more closed shelving to clean up the clutter. It is easier to keep small spaces tidy too.
The same goes with color. Edit and remove a few.
I liked your bedroom but I wondered if you would actually ever close those large heavy drapes and sit in that small space.
I prefer the barn doors, but it looks like you picked up some book space you needed.
