One thing that shocked me was that almost all lilies are toxic to cats. (stargazer lilies, calla lilies, peace lilies, etc.)

If I receive flower arrangements with flowers that are toxic to cats, I put them in my bedroom, which is off limits to the kitties. It is kind of a nice excuse to have fresh cut flowers in my bedroom!

Living in Southern California, I always do an "earthquake check" before I leave on a long vacation. Make sure nothing is precariously tipping or close to an edge.

In Southern California, it is starting to be spider season. They're mostly outdoors, but any time you walk "between" anything, especially in the mornings, you have to keep an eye out for webs. In our area, they're harmless garden orb spiders, but walking through a spiderweb is an icky feeling!

I have used baking soda and dryer sheets in the past, and both worked perfectly.

I also caulk up the hole they're getting in through if I can find it.

I have cats as well, so no poisons for our house.

I'm in love with the Seventh Generation Disinfecting Wipes. I know they're not as eco friendly as a spray with a reusable towel, but they're convenient, and better for the environment that the Clorox variety. And the lemongrass & thyme scent is fantastic!

If they don't include the registry on the invite, and only give it to people who ask, then I don't think its tacky at all.

I tend to do little cleaning chores when I get home from work, so I have been known to clean in slacks or skirts and heels. But for hardcore cleaning, I like to steal one of my boyfriend's undershirts.

My mom bought this lighter (the large kind you use to light a fireplace or BBQ), that was in the shape of Gumby, because she thought it was funny. (like this one: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1275/709469847_7d2cf94976.jpg?v=0 ) The best part was the "NOT A TOY" warning on the front of the package. Oh yeah, because some kid will understand that this item that looks exactly like a toy really isn't a toy.

As to the baby heel shoes, I saw the women who created them in an interview. They are completely meant to be a joke, and "crib shoes," meaning they're not supposed to be walked in.
