I've been a fan of Ashley's blog for years, and I've always loved this room. I think she'd probably find it amusing that anyone would consider the room to be expensive. She probably found everything in the room second hand.

I do understand the purpose of the post though. Thanks for doing the homework for us.

I get the appeal of this, but wouldn't it be incredibly easy to puncture in an accident? If sharp metal were to pierce it at 70 mph, wouldn't it instantly deflate putting the infant in danger?

I would have to see how this survives an accident simulation before I would put my child anywhere near it.

I refinished a piece of furniture similar to yours about a year ago. I used this site as inspiration. http://www.soulstyle.ca/dressers-sanity/

I didn't use chalk paint. Used Zinsser spray primer and regular old semi gloss paint. Pretty sure it was all water based too.

$1,800 on a massive sectional sofa from Macy's. Probably the most I've ever spent on anything, and I haven't regretted it for a second.

My son LOVES those Munchkin Caterpillar Spillers. He's almost two and has been playing with them in the bath since he could sit up on his own.

I made a guess about what would be in this post before I clicked through...I was right about "Shop your home" "Rearrange your furniture" and "Get some plants"

I Love Love Love you, Apartment Therapy, but you recycle this post every week. As do most bloggers, though. So I guess you are off the hook.

It's so funny to me how polarizing these lists can be. Things I couldn't have lived without for my son are placed on the unnecessary list for others. And yet I still click to read what people have to say every time I see one of these round ups. It really is true that every child (and parent) are different. I'll shout out a hooray for the Boppy, Carter Onesies and the Antilop high chair.

I think this is genius, but I was also wondering if the table is a little top heavy. Can Shannon give us an idea of the sturdiness? Would it work with a toddler in the house?

Munchkin. You feel like a complete dork while playing it, but it is so fun.

I have the Elliot sectional from Macy's, and absolutely love it. You should be able to visit a store to check it out. It has a modern shape and is low profile. Microfiber. Super comfy. I've had it over a year and couldn't be more pleased.

I have a regular old Command hook hanging in my shower. It's been there almost two years and hasn't budged. It's not directly exposed to water, but it's certainly been moist.
