I got the recycled lobster trap rope doormat from Green Depot and it's great. Cheaper than those listed too. It's not shedding but I've only had it about a month, so I have not yet seen what it will be like in the long term. But it seems awfully sturdy. Enough with the Mess Already! Non-shedding Doormats |

I'm one month in, and am almost done. Apt painted, but a couple of rooms have stuff sitting in heaps on the floor because they don't have anywhere to go yet. At least they're out of boxes. Decorating walls will be a much slower process though. How Long Does it Take You to Get Settled? |

I just bought a bed from Cozy Pure. I had had a Stearns and Foster mattress and boxspring for 10 years that served me really well and now that it was time for a new one I agonized about which mattress to buy. I ended up buying a relatively inexpensive (compared to their other ones--mine was $1500) Queen Size latex mattress and I love it! Love. Extremely comfortable and I sleep like the dead. Also the customer service was really great, very helpful in helping me to figure out whether a mattress might work for me since I couldn't go down to try it out in person. I also like that they offer vegan options, that I didn't see on other sites like the Organic Mattress Store. The 10 Best All-Natural and Organic Mattress Sources Shopper's Guide |

Damn. I want to roller skate around the house but that would ruin the floors. The dark wood is absolutely enchanting, the colors are wonderful and it's just so homey. Only love. Brad, Lis & Meade's Light-Filled Bungalow House Tour |

No, don't unpack everything and store it in the closet/dresser. Bedbugs. Definitely do not put your suitcase under the bed. Bedbugs. 10 Tips for Feeling at Home in a Hotel | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

djs, I hadn't seen the storefront house before but no, I don't love that. I love their tables, but overall that design isn't for me. I loved the house in Woonsocket, that one really blew me away Stefanie Luke's Brooklyn Limestone House Tour | Apartment Therapy New York |

Wicked-wicked-wicked people to live in such a house when I do not. I saw bits of the reno on Brownstoner, amazing to see it finished. Also I love subway tiles and it's great to see it put to such wonderful use in 3 separate bathrooms! Stefanie Luke's Brooklyn Limestone House Tour | Apartment Therapy New York |

I have shutters in my bedroom and love them! I usually close top and bottom, but I can also close the bottom for privacy and leave the top open for light. In the summer I can close the top to block the light and leave the bottom open for a breeze. How To: Dress Your Bedroom Windows for Healthy Sleep | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |
