We put this Blik alphabet up above the dresser/changing table and our 7 week old daughter loves it. Ditto for the Fisher Price...we got it for the decent look, price and ability to save us from buying a high chair. ALSO, a friend tells me that it is possible to stick the entire chair (trays off of course) in the dishwasher periodically for deep cleaning. Love it! We use the Brita, although after looking into what chemicals are in our local water supply, I guess I should be getting a PUR or an under the sink filter. See http://www.ewg.org/tap-water/home This website is very helpful to get your local water supplies report, and then you can search for appropriate water filtration. Honestly, I could not stand this room. I thought it was way too chaotic and disjointed. I agree that the boats are visually interesting but they are not a mobile- they are stationary. As others have said, I love the simple modernism with the ornate woodwork. I also love the (super) tall bookcase in the dining room. I am looking for something similar for my dining room/library.
