Yes, I have thought of that Jezebella. But, for years it was stored out of sight in a cabinet, and well, what's the use in that? It's so pretty, I wanted to see it. The wattage is pretty low and for the most part it only gets a bit of sunlight through the top of that door - and we are on the first floor so it's minimal.

chalkboard paint! just kidding ... how about wallpaper? there are some really great wallpaper designs out there. Though this birch tree paper (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/good-questions/good-questions-what-is-this-wallpaper-015132) has apparently "been everywhere lately" I think it would look nice in your space. Though a little pricey.

Love the orange sofa ... the shape is amazing!
I actually think the sofa would look even better against the blue-green color in the bathroom. It would be a bit more unexpected. But what you have is still nice!
