I make mine in muffin pans, it's quick and easy. I mix all of the ingredients below in a blender, pour (yes it will be liquid) into the previously oiled muffin pan, and bake for 15-20 mins at 200 C, or 395 F. Delicioso!

1 egg
85 ml olive oil
165 ml milk
170 g tapioca flour
65 g grated cheddar i mozzarella
1/2 tsp salt

What an amazing space! Moe did such a wonderful job indeed. It has been a while since the last I visited their home, and this tour just brings great memories! Regards from Seattle!

I completely agree with the dining room prognosis.
I just moved from a spacious Chicago contemporary loft that has a huge kitchen with a dining countertop to a large Seattle craftsmen home with a tiny kitchen and a separate dining room, and cannot get used to is.
Miss my kitchen.
Miss my Chicago.

You will have to use the primer for plastic, otherwise your paint will not adhere.

With the exception of a few pieces, this is too much Ikea for my taste. Sorry, but I completely missed that 'dab of drama' we were promised.

When I saw your picture, I just thought: it figures!
I want to move to Portland and hang out with you.

Oh yeah, and for the future: get a dog! You cannot be depressed with those animals around! Speaking from my own experience.

I suppose you can't paint or hang pictures, as you are renting for a short period of time, sigh.

If you can afford it, ship your bedding sets, throw pillows, all the framed family and friends' pictures, lamps and perhaps a favourite chair, if you can. That way everything will be waiting for you when you get there, so it will feel less alien from the get-go.

If you cannot, research local craigslist a few days ahead of
time to find stuff people give away for free. Make sure that you have comfortable textiles and lamps - with those two you can achieve comfort. If you don't have framed pictures of the people you love it is easy to make a collage on a budget: print out the pics at your local Wallgreens and simply arrange them (double sided tape will work) on a huge piece of cardboard that you can hang near the entry way to remind you of the loved ones as you enter your temporary home.

Plants work wonders too, same goes for small home accessories in warm colours.
If you can, drape the windows as that will add more warmth, and bring along from home your coffee mugs and alarm clock so that you wake up the way that you are used to.
if the rental place has a balcony, set up some seating set outside and spend time out as much as you can - morning and evening sky is the same everywhere but Beijing.
Good luck!

I adore the place - it looks so comfortable and inviting.
I absolutely envy Maria on the space and would love to 'water the flowers' while she is out of town :)

Here is one of those (not such a GREAT find, but still pretty darn good).

It is a small lamp table by Duncan Phyfe - it is worth around 250, these people are selling for 75.

Oh yeah I forgot: I would get rid of the metal cover plates for light switch and the electrical outlet.
The advice from someone above to plate the claw feet is priceless - there is a small place in Winnetka called Bellow's and they do wonderful job.

And yes, get rid of rattan baskets.

Get rid of the brown tile, wooden frame mirror, light fixture and the mirror above sink.
I would get the same Carrera tile for the floor but in 6x6 and make a small inset in dark gray with some geometric small accent tile.
I would leave the walls bright as darker color wouldn't work for me - you want to keep it looking fresh.

I'd get either polished chrome open shelves for all those cluttering pieces or a white wooden tall cabinet with glass doors, further, an oval mirror with polished chrome accents and put two light fixtures in the same finish to flank your mirror.
Painting on the wall above the tub unless you decide to go with a curtain.

I would keep it white - that way you will have that older look but still have it trendy.
Good luck!

This is what I got.
The tray can accommodate 5-6 pairs of shoes and boots and the grid that comes included drains the water so that your boots are not sitting in salty mud.

I tried the pebble version and while it looks real nice, cleaning it is a bitch - it is very heavy to carry it to wherever you are going to clean it and you pretty much have to rinse and dry every pebble.

I am soooo happy with my last solution.
