This is one of my all-time favorite AT tours. It's warm and comfortable but energetic and vibrant. It definitely looks like a HOME. And I love all of the original elements of the house itself. The plants just send it into A+ territory.

Only dislikes would be the ceiling fans (and I live in a climate where they're almost a necessity)... and the fact that you don't have younger children, because I would LOVE to see how you'd do their rooms!

I'm honestly baffled about the criticism over the nudes. Yes, the Lolita might be a bit much combined WITH the photography, but the photography itself is exquisite, in my opinion.

That media room... yes. I think I could live there (I like naps! lol).

Super fun! Uncommon Objects is TRULY one of my favorite places in the world. The first time I walked through those doors I felt like the Mother Ship had called me home. I love how you've captured that vibe but infused it with your own personality and LOADS of color! :)

First off, I just love the house. My favorite. (Like Blandwagon, I dislike the kitchen and bathroom, but I won't blame the tenants!)

Yancy is gawjus.

This place is a feast for the eyes, a real treasure trove. I love the tvs everywhere, as well as the industrial furniture and whimsical touches like the typewriter and the game(?) hanging in the bedroom.

I can't say enough good things about this place! I love that it's elegant but casual and homey, and I adore all of the original features like the built-ins and lights and doors... Your dining room is one of my favorites!

Two little nitpicks: Those kitchen cabinets most likely aren't original because 1920s cabinets would've been "inset," with the doors flush with the frames. Your overlay style wasn't unheard of, but I'm wondering if someone didn't just put new doors on the old frames at some point. And your home isn't a DCR because it doesn't (I think...) have a gambrel roof. I'd just call it a derivative of the English cottage style. Nonetheless, it's 100% charming and you have fantastic style. I wouldn't change a thing, except maybe that your pups don't go with the decor so they should come live with me! :)

I can't wrap my head around the ideas that this place is "cluttered" or "claustrophobic."

This is a home, lived-in, loved, curated over a long period of time. The owners didn't pick everything out of a catalog or from a website, there is no "Keep Calm" poster or Saarinen tulip table, and I don't see any IKEA. (I'm not saying I like or dislike those things, I'm just picking on those of you who think every home has to be about "good design." Some people don't give a rip about "design" or even style, they just want to be surrounded by things they love, things that inspire them, or items that hold sentimental value. If you like your home minimalistic, good on ya, but it doesn't mean you're "right" and people who don't share your decorating philosophies are "wrong.")

Wow, that was a tall soap-box. I'm dizzy, stepping down.

Funny, I've saved at least a dozen images over the last few months with just such an idea. Some with tvs set against a black/dark painted wall, as in your photo, and some in a black/dark bookshelf.

My favorite home style, and you have done right by it! Just lovely!

The only fault I find is that you've covered the gorgeous chandeliers and sconces with those inappropriate little shades.

And someone has replaced what was no doubt a beautiful iron balustrade system. *weep*
