How about this one from West Elm? It would fit the space, is low and would look good with the lines of your bed.

If this were my space to make over, I think I would remove the rail dividing the dining area and the step down living room, replace the light fixture over the table, and maybe paint the brick on the fireplace -- although I would probably try to clean the brick first and see if that helped. Then I would add a rug in the kitchen and curtains to the window above the sink.

I agree with all the other comments about getting into counseling and reading up on obsessive-compulsive hoarding.

It sounds like the issues are fairly deep-seated and you are beyond frustrated with wanting/needing to be heard and respected with regards to your living arrangement. A counselor will work with you on making your needs heard by your wife, and will work with her to figure out why things seem to mean more to her than people.

I don't suggest that you just go around chucking stuff though. This usually leads to more hoarding behavior.

A good book to read is "Buried in Treasures: Help for Compulsive, Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding" by David F. Tolin, Randy O. Frost, and Gail Steketee

It is cute, no doubt. However, for 24K I think I would want something more than a small metal box on wheels that doesn't even have a) a toilet, b) air conditioning.

I voted B because it is cheerful and the background is white which matches the white oven. The other choice appears to have a beige-ish background color, but it could just be the picture or my monitor.

This looks similar to the Duplo Dinamico fans from Matthews Fan Company, but isn't an exact match.

I'm with Sasha... if you keep it then embrace it's teal-iness with more updated pillows. Those rose colored pillows against the teal just scream 1980's to me and not in a good way. I would suggest maybe a pattern in blue/green/teal with just a touch of rich buttery gold in the pillows.

The first thought I had upon seeing the first picture was - brown, boring, and bottom heavy. The two small spots of blue over the couch only accentuate the fact that everything else is void of color and there isn't much there to draw the eye upward or make it cohesive. I agree with what others have said about the scale of the furnishings. How much better would it be if you substituted a larger painting in place of the two small blue ones over the couch, paired a second small table with the white table being used for a coffee table, a taller plant in place of the small one on the side table, and added curtains to the windows.

The dining room is scaled much better but is lacking color. It needs something in there that will express personality. Maybe a rug AND more colorful artwork would do the trick.

The bedroom again is bottom heavy and boring in the color dept. Adding a different colored bedspread, some accent pillows, curtains, and art over the dresser would really liven this room up.

Microwave carts would work well for this. A lot of them nowadays are open storage as in the picture, but you can still find several that offer hidden storage if you search around. Some even have drawers. We have two microwave carts that we use at home. One houses our tools so we can move from room to room without having to trek back to the garage when making repairs and the other one we use for a mobile coffee station. You might have to cut a small hole in the back for cords, but that isn't usually a big deal.
