So pretty, and just my style. Try as I may, I can never get my books to match a room.

I saw a velvety brown sofa yesterday that I really liked but was wondering if it would be too much brown with all of my mid-century walnut furniture. I like how they've put a light blue rug on the floor in this photo.

I love, love, love this house. I love the front door, love the bookcase in the living room, love the hardwood floors, and the vintage camera collection. My husband is always wanting to hang skateboards on the wall too. I think I could be into it if they looked as pretty as these.

This is a fascinating topic and one I've thought a lot about. I like that you point out that there is no one right way to share & document one's life and one's space. Like any sort of creative expression, there are different styles, different comfort levels, etc. I've often speculated about why I blog. I'm still not really sure, but I think as long as it makes me happy (and inspires a couple people) it's a good way for me to spend my time. The critics will always be there.

I like the points that shopping locally happens more often and artisans thrive. I used to live in Davis, CA before there were any big chain stores (there are still very few), and loved shopping local. Now that I live in a city, I still frequent small downtown areas that have the small town feel.

Very cool. I'd like to do a mirror wall above my dresser. I also love round mirrors. I have one in my retro bathroom.

It's so hard to find a modern looking sofa that is also both comfortable and affordable. Sigh. I wish we had the one pictured here.
