I bought a set on a whim to use at work, and they sound great...no problems with random collapse so far! I'm not in love with the way they look, but for the price, they're better than a set of chunky off-white speakers.

I bought this bed a few months ago and absolutely hated it. The mattress sits very high and unless you use hospital corners making the bed, it always looks sloppy.

I have a very small bedroom (alcove) and needed under-bed storage badly. In the last two years, I've owned this bed, the mandal, and an old platform bed inherited from my parents that had sliding doors instead of drawers. None of them worked in my space. Last week, I bought the Ramberg bed from IKEA, the Lillaker slats, and eight of the big Kasset boxes. Under $250, tons of storage, and it looks great with the rest of my stuff.

Good hot water bottles are increasingly difficult to find, but are one of the best "green" heat sources I know. Throw a couple of small ones into your bed for half an hour before you sleep, and you'll be nice and toasty all night.

I use double-sided tape to attach bubble wrap to my windows, and a homemade draft blocker along my front door. Keeps my place warm, since I'm not heating up the great outdoors.

And yes, get a dog!

I love the glowing "Straw Cube II." Any ideas for DIY-ers for that one? 'Fraid I'm tapped out from the cure, but something like this would be perfect for my living room.

Sigh...why do designers hate books so much?
