How strange, LyonStill-- I had a sort-of similar experience with a distressed yellow wooden trunk as a child! Except I was playing 'vampire' by myself in my room and when I lay down in my 'coffin' the latch fell down and I got stuck inside! I eventually made enough racket that my mom came up and freed me. I wasn't traumatized by the event though, now I just think its funny that I was apparently a pretend vampire savaging my stuffed animals! I wonder if our trunks were the same! Thanks so much Faith! You saved me! I might try the updated version next year, but this year I finally convinced my brother to let me make the pumpkin pie, so I get to show off to my family the version of this pie I've been making for a few years now (for just myself and my boyfriend... and eating it between the two of us!) Whoa whoa, just a minute-- is this an updated recipe? Now I'm in a panic! I just went pouring through my emails to myself trying to find the original version of this recipe because this is my go-to pie and previously it used half-and-half rather than milk and whipping cream! I'd tweaked this recipe to perfection and now am nervous that I've lost my favorite pie recipe forever! Is there anyway I could get a text version of the original recipe posted here? (oh because, by the way... I love this pie!) Recipe: Ginger Pumpkin Pie with Graham Cracker Crust Recipes from The Kitchn |

Kale Gratin! This is how I make people into kale believers! This recipe is originally from yoga journal and in it they say you can sub kale for cabbage, AND I actually usually DOUBLE the amount of kale in the recipe and add just a splash more milk and cheese and it is SO GOOD What Can I Do With a Whole Lot of Kale? the Olson House isn't in Rockland, but in Cushing (which it says on the website you linked to) Cushing is about 20 mins away from Rockland. I'm being a stickler, I know, but I grew up in Thomaston (the town in between Rockland and Cushing) United States of Design Road Trips: The Northeast |

Gray Line Linen is AMAZING! Such beautiful fabric... But I have to say: I have never seen any fabric stores in my many trips through the garment district selling fabric wide enough to make sheets out of one panel. And I'm super diy-everything: I make my own clothes, I make my own duvets and light weight quilts. I usually end up using quality vintage sheets to get the width I need for bedding. I was going to suggest something similar as pamh-- again only if you aren't using the fireplace-- You can also use laundry starch and tissue paper to make 'stained glass'! 'don't hurry'??? yeah right-- I'll continue to buck that rule. I'm a New Yorker, AND the Greenmarket functions as my grocery store in the summertime. @ m_j_s72, we had the same ad campaign in Maine! And I sing that song in my head everytime I'm buying eggs at the super market. But I live in Brooklyn now and I noticed that the brown eggs I'm buying are indeed from Maine, so not really fulfilling the "local eggs" part of the song.... What's the Difference?
