The clutter is certainly distracting, but as the article states, it's not about design but how a creative mind works and is inspired by its surroundings.

As an aside, I think it's not the waist, as it is the crotch of the pants that bother me. Much too low, but not enough to be considered drop crotch, giving the appearance of a 'full nappy'. How dreadful.

monicas, my thoughts exactly. This house is beautiful, 'decorator-ey' or not. Yes, some of the styling is a bit contrived (am I really to believe her sexiest pair of pumps and her Vuitton Icare bag just happened to be on display the day of the photoshoot?) but it's nothing I haven't seen the best home decor magazines do before, so why are people hatin' so much?

Jennifer, congratulations on having a stunning home and just remember, haters gon' hate.

I'm just glad the 'den' fad is fading:
Aden, Jaden, Braden, etc.
Though I'm finding the 'son' craze creeping up on the horizon:
Grayson, Mason, Jason...

I love LOVE posts like this on AT.
For design nerds like me, it just doesn't get better than a history lesson.

Thanks!
More please.

Okay, I get what everyone's saying here, and I agree to a certain degree, but I look at it this way; I would never ask someone to go out on a romantic dinner with me and show up wearing my old USC hoodie and pajama bottoms.

What I'm trying to say is when I entertain, I put my best foot forward, but never set myself up for failure by expecting perfection. I make do with what I have, but I make it awesome. I want my guests to know I made an effort, that I am celebrating them and that our time together is special, not just something I haphazardly threw together.

I guess the question that begs to be asked, in this case, is what type of party are you throwing? In most cases, it's more about the who than the where.

Dogs off the couch unless I'm there too. In which case, they go on my lap. Dogs in the bed are discouraged, but I'm the first to admit that some nights, there's nothing better than a pup to snuggle up to. Long story short, I'm an enabler.

The only other thing I've learned from all these posts is that cats are highly insubordinate. If I wanted something to ignore me and consume the food I buy and take over all my furniture, I'd get a teenager.

To each their own!

Those udden cabinet doors don't line up.

I just thought I'd throw that in to counteract all the positive comments! Haha. Awesome space. Thumbs up!

For everyone who keeps saying "maybe the reason the photographs aren't great is because the space is so small that it's too difficult to get good shots." well, take a look at this entry.

If only I had the chance to give this another thumbs up, I would. Imagine that? An entry for a contest to find the smallest coolest space that actually has pictures of the space and not random objets d'art littered in the home?

AWESOME entry Sara.

Clever storage solutions, that's for sure, but I'm still not sure how this holds up against some of the other teeny tiny entries. A wall of shoe cubbies hardly makes for a small/cool space. Where's the living area? And the kitchen? These are the things I want to see. It's hard to judge a home without seeing these crucial elements/spaces.

It seems you don't need my thumbs up since you're doing so well, but best of luck in the contest!

This space is naturally beautiful, but that bedroom is a little too over accessorized. Perhaps those vases would live a better life elsewhere? Anyway, great entry! Thanks for sharing.

THANK YOU for not taking pictures of soap dispensers, baubles and books. Seeing images of the actual rooms not only proves it is small, but it's also super cool.

Thumbs up!

This is one of those rare posts where the space looks a lot smaller than they claim it is! Usually, spaces are accused of looking bigger.

For such a sunny country, this Australian entry is a bit too dark for me. But I may consider clicking the thumbs up button if you teach me how to surf?

Good luck Amie!

Adorable space!
Left brain/right brain sums it up so well.

I'm just wondering, how do people get in and out of your living room seating cluster without having to move tables and chairs around? It seems a bit awkward in terms of traffic flow. I understand the need for intimate conversation areas, but I think a well defined entry and exit point might help make it more comfortable! Just a thought.

Good luck with your entry!
