Yeah - this was organized for semi-permanent storage, not for a household in which they get used every day or week or even every month.

Also, I agree with whoever mentioned Goodreads. It's a wonderful way to track what you've read and what you want to read.

Yay digital media! I have no physical movies or music (unless external hard drives count) and somewhere under 10 physical books (excluding the work-related once I keep at the office). I guess I'm lucky that I'm young enough to have gotten into digital media early - I never accumulated many cds or dvds. It took quite a while to get my book collection down, but I read way more on my kindle than I ever did when I had to lug around heavy books.

From the Dr. Bronner's section: "The company claims 18 uses in 1, and is organic and free-trade."

I assume you meant fair trade, not free trade. They're not at all the same thing, and I doubt Dr. Bronner's would boast that it's free trade.

I love this place! And I'm curious about the seat pads on the dining room chairs. Were they DIY? Purchased?

@CallDoctorBison Feel free to pay the bag fee and continue using your grocery store bags as garbage bags. Or just buy proper garbage bags. Either way, I'm sure you'll survive. I'm not too concerned with the plastic bag industry.

I agree with all the other commenters - gender based tech marketing is stupid and annoying. Why promote it here?

Another for CrashPlan. I had mozy before, but it never quite worked properly. CrashPlan is great!

MamaGigi - That mac and cheese recipe looks amazing (and I have a new slow cooker). I'll add that to the list of things to try in it.

I have the hand cranked paper shredder and I love it! Yes, it only does 1-2 pieces of paper at a time, but it fits in my file cabinet drawer and I can shred junk mail while I listen to This American Life on the weekend.

The urban outfitters one isn't great. I've had one in orange for quite a while - it's not the sturdiest thing ever, and the paint fades quite noticeably if it's exposed to sunlight.
