Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat! I'm in love again and it feels good!
Leah! That porch......transports us all to a Hemingway setting.... the Hamptons in july, august, and what about a 'staycation' without leaving home! I'm craving peach iced tea, marguerita's and tall rum drinks just taking in your view. Turquoise paint, hibiscus and palm breezes............. or is that a morning glory vine in pink? Outstanding!

Jessiem, IKEA is not know for their online presence. If possible get to your nearest location, and walk the floor with a tape measure. I encourage clean lines, and cabinet doors for a bar. This is not a must if your have the space. I prefer clean lines but since we all have different aesthetics, move towards the direction that supports your style.
I plan to be at IKEA on Monday. I could take a look for you if you send an email and share a few specifics. smallcoolbeth@gmail.com Good luck - IKEA rules: 1. Go early or very late - 2. Stay focused on your goal - blinder vision. 3. Bring a calm partner or friend. 4. Look at unexpected pieces with a new perspective- ie: Would a breakfront cupboard be a good solution? What about a below the counter bar that hides wine and liquor inside a cabinet. It would provide flat surface at counter height for a tray and glassware. - Outside the box thinking!

thisparadesucks - The roller shades are from Pottery Barn. Made from cotton canvas with a cutout at the bottom. A black wrought iron rod threads through the cotton cutout on the bottom. Not sure if they are still available so good luck! www.potterybarn.com

lepidotery - more about the Primary Pouf -
A large cube of all-weather patented foam, it provides comfortable seating but is firm enough to hold drinks and plates. Primary FOAM; resists fading or degrading and supports more than 300 lbs. The base and foam are attached. Designed for indoors and outdoors. Contract quality. Made in Belgium.

This seating feels like a nerf football but the finish, similar to a semi-gloss.

Thank you for so many fantastic comments! It feels great to hear from you all, most notably 'creative in theory' better known as the WINNER of Small Cool 2010!
Both wonderful and itchy to share my house tour! Since I didn't author the shots, I want to thank AT's Jessica Watson for her wonderful images!

As for my outdoor space, it is next on my list.
Yes NickGood my gutter needs to be replaced and my vegetable garden is late going in, but the sun is shining on the Small Cool Cottage today!

In response to your comments:

Surfjack - I just like your comments. Thank you.

SpaceDesign911 & steph309 - Paul Smith wave pillows - I purchased these from my friend Mary Anne who recently closed her home staging business. Lucky timing!

@newyorklady1 - You are are correct - Jim Dine Bathrobe Poster is mounted on a very hard compression board used by framing shops. The shower head is far away and it really hasn't been an issue. Recently hung, now I realize the bathrobe looks much better just leaning against the white tile wall.

thisparadesucks -
lepidoptery - Regarding the pouf- you may be looking for a fluffy looking ottoman, but the "Primary Pouf" is the red square weather-proofed foam ottoman, chair, table all-in-one! http://www.dwr.com/product/primary-pouf.do?keyword=primary pouf&sortby=ourPicks Kid friendly, I love the Pouf for bathrooms and outside too.

angeeelay & Rosaleen - You are correct. Coffee Table - Crate & Barrell 8yrs old (really an end table -in my last house). white lacquer square tray - William-Sonoma Home

pbysura- About the stove - a Westinghouse gas stove- fits into the tiny kitchen perfectly. Surprisingly the only hazard is the chef! PS I have a smoke alarm.

minyuette- The Best Friends Book -(witches) Was giving to me by one of my BF's Leesee.

sp1-I 'll take you up on speaking at SF Apartment Therapy Meetups! In fact I would be honored. How can I follow up with you to make this happen? My contact info: smallcoolbeth@gmail.com

Coletta - I love your comment about the dining table. My room changes often, I just switched out a long 6'x 27" distressed wood top that rests on the Mr Levine Chrome legged bases from DWR sample sale. They're versatile for sure- right now the base for the glass round table (which is the top to my real coffee table). The longer table fits nicely along the wall -great for inside dinner parties, food prep, art projects and alas my desk!

Nancy Bostwick - You are such a star! Thank you for your gracious remarks. Wow!

firehorse - I would love to help transform your space. My contact info below.

Sarah! Great work! I am of the Arne Quinze school of joyous 'poufs'! Both water proof-y and spongey. Your posts are strong. I spent some time up there on them summer islands. Your writing & point of view took me to a bright, simpler place but faster! Write more but about other disciplines. You have a great eye!
