DO NOT USE CONTACT PAPER! This stickum does NOT come off. The contact paper does not come off easily, either. And beware of things like nameplates, etc, attached to the fridge.

There's a reason they put pink tiles in bathrooms. The color is flattering to the skin tones. You look better every time you look in the mirror. Put up a fabulous shower curtain and some art work, and the pink tiles will fade into the background.

Right on, Annie-O! Flouride's a poision that does not belong in anything we use. In Calif, they snuck it into the water supply without telling anyone. Absolutely shameful.

Ditto. I stopped using anti-persirants when they where linked with Alzheimer's. I used a crystal deod instead. Then I heard there where problems with that. So I spinkle a pinch of baking soda on the counter, moisten my fingertips, then apply to my pits. Works great.

Hand wipes are essential.
Also bring a note book for measurements, phone numbers of vendors, color swatches of things you want to match.
A rolling cart is essential. No fun lugging a heavy bag around 10 acres of flea market.
I also bring a hat, sunscreen and a parasol. A fun day out will be spoiled by a bad sunburn.

I'm going to buy one even though I don't really have a use for it. I'd like to use it as a microwave cart, but that would require a top.

Please have these checked out before you do anything to them! They look like really nice pieces, maybe antiques, and you could destroy the value if you refinish them.

I personally don't like to paint natural wood finishes. I want to see the wood they are made from. Consider a non-permanent top, like a mirror, just placed on top, not affixed permanently.

If you really hate them that much, then cover them with floor-to-ceiling curtains. Even better, tack up drywall panels and cover up everything. That way you'll see how much better the apt looks with the windows.

DO NOT USE POISON! The mouse crawls behind stuff to die then it stinks. Use humane traps. Bate them with peanut butter. Put them all over the place. Mice aren't as germmy as people think. They use them in labs after all. Bleach or Lysol will disinfect everything just fine.

I love quirk. And with the wall coming down, it will make the space delightfully airy. Put valances on the top of the window for eye appeal. Don't put up curtains or it will block the light and the open felling. Embrace the quirk.

Check you local rental laws. It's hopefully illegal to maintain a hot apartment and you can persuade your landlord to install an air conditioner. If not, you'll have to spring for one of your own.

The best trick for the windows is to keep the sunlight from hitting the glass. Bamboo blinds, screens, window film, foam core covered with aluminum foil, anything you can think of. Short of that, insulated curtains are a must.

Consider covering the design on the tiles with some sort of stickers. Change the handles on the cupboards. Put up colorful cafe curtains on the windows and a large, colorful painting on the wall and the walls will fade into the background.
