A painting that would fit would be so huge, it would be cumbersome to move. Not to mention hang.

Consider a wall hanging, tapestry kind of thing. Or one of those wall paper murals.

Think padding.

Carpets, drapes, upholstered furniture, quilts hanging on the wall.

The padding absorbs the sound.

My problem is the huge expanse of dark gray wall above the cabinets. Seeing as you have to paint anyway once the bar is done, consider changing it to a pale gray, or even better, a pale peach-a lighter shade than the orange.

Punch it up with some turquoise blue or tomato red accent pieces.

I think the back splash is fine.

I used to work for a screen door company. There are a number of options you can use. Removable screens, pull down screens.

A sheer curtain covering the window will deflect the bugs without keeping out the air. Or shutters like they used in the days before screens. Even sheers blinds.

Cafeterias install fans over the windows. Flying critters don't like moving air.

I understand you don't want to restrict air flow. Candles and plants will only do so much.

The size and proportions do not work for the space. They are too deep and I cannot image what they put them in for.

Are you allowed to remove them? If so, then I agree, pitch them.

If you cannot remove, then at bare minimum, remove the center portion and put in a window bench. Paint them a light color to watch the walls.

There's a reason they used pink tile in bathrooms. The color is flattering for applying make up or affecting one's coiffure.

And keep the handles. You'd be surprised how useful they are, especially in the shower. Think of guests, if you get sick, etc. You could disguise with towels, wrapped with flowers or ribbon, for the time being.

Also, I believe it is possible to paint tile. Consider painting the green trim a darker shade of gray than the wallpaper. Coordinate with Silver accents pieces et Voila, you have a sleek, modern looking bathroom.

And don't worry too much about the floor. No one much notices the floor. Put in a throw rug or two.

Your room is so neutral, almost any rug will work.
Then pick up a predominant color in your rug, and use for accent pieces, pictures, pillows, that sort of thing.

The store either doesn't have what I want, or I know they have what I want, but I can't find it.

I try not to get too stressed about it, because at least we don't have to queue up for a head of cabbage.

What gets my goat is people who walk down the middle of the driving portion of the parking lot, pushing their cart full of groceries, or their kids in a stroller. Like suddenly all the cars will disappear now that they are on foot.

And while were on the subject, too many parking lots are poorly designed, with too little spaces too close together. I'm talking to you, Trader Joe's.

You just need a plastic tub ala Ikea, and a hand held shower head.

Make it seem like it's kiddie pool time and act like it's a big treat.

Kids are much more adaptable to these things than non-parents think.

Hanging a mirror over a baby's bed is insane.

Not only could in fall down in an earthquake (which can happen anywhere, BTW), the baby could knock it down, or throw a toy thereby breaking the glass into razor sharp ribbons.

Move the bed. Or the mirror.

Sewing your own sheet is a bad idea.

You will have a seam, no matter what you do. And sleeping on a seam is HIGHLY uncomfortable. Plus it probably won't save you any money.

However, making a duvet cover with sheets is a great idea.

You have to put an mattress bag on your mattress. This traps the little bastards inside, where they, and their offspring die. Gross, I know, but necessary.

Unfortunately, there love upholstered furniture, too.

Diatomaceous earth is great at killings bugs, including fleas.

Memory foam mattress are impervious to the beg bugs. Dust mites, too.

Consider replacing your mattress. You can get them cheap from Walmart online.
