I used up a Kohl's gift card on Food Network's Cupcake Carrier. It's 2 layers and one can be removed easily if you just need the one. Also, the part that holds the cupcakes in place can be reversed and is flat on the other side so it's perfect for small cakes or any other baked good. It was $30 but at Kohl's it seems things are always on sale.

I'm so that way too. Everything needs to find it's place. My boyfriend moved into a new apartment 2 weeks ago and is still unsettled. Whenever I'm over I just want to organize! When he is in the other room or steps outside I get to work!

Go to cakecentral.com and there is a tutorial for making marshmallow fondant. It's a lot simpler than it seems and tastes amazing (esp. with some vanilla flavoring added)!

My best friend grew up on a dairy farm down the road from me so I always had fresh milk when I was there. I can't remember noticing a huge difference in taste but I usually drink whole milk to begin with. She swears by it though and even though she's moved off the farm and is married she stills wants a cow of her own to have fresh milk everyday.

I usually make my own fondant since the bought stuff I've tried tastes horrible. I had to make a cake several weeks ago though and thought I'd try his buttercream fondant out. I was VERY skeptical but I have to admit it tasted very similar to the marshmallow fondant I make myself. It's not cheap, but no bought fondant really is. I'd definitely recommend it if you don't have time to make your own or are wanting a particular color (especially black!).

When I took some cake decorating courses I refused to buy the store bought stuff that tasted horrible. Who wants a cake that no one will eat? So I attempted marshmallow fondant (mmf!) and it's pretty easy and definitely tasty. Everyone at my cake class passed around my bowl of fondant and were pretty jealous.

I have the same island from the first (and last) photo. With limited tile counter space in my apartment I needed more baking room and the wooden top is perfect. And the drawers hide all of my cookie cutters and other baking things. Most random K-Mart Martha Stewart purchase ever!
