We do not need a set of 8, 12 or 16 for all our dinnerware either. We may be pleased with owning a kit just for a romantic dinner.

As for buying a little at a time, it works if you plan it well. You need to be sure that if it's discontinued before you acquire the entire set, you still can use the pieces you bought.

I love orange as an accent color. I painted the walls of my living room a muted orange. The fact that is muted makes it easy to live with. But for accessories, I prefer a true orange.

Like you, I do not own a slow cooker for lack of space. Many of my girlfriends really enjoy the happiness of arriving from work with dinner almost ready to serve. I own 2 cast-irons Dutch oven and since I often work for home, I will give it a try.

I received for Christmas the Breville Variable Temperature Kettle. I love it!

It is lovely but I agree that it is way too expansive for a kid room. It could be cute for the mom who has her own girlie dressing room.

To answer Brooklynnina's excellent point that French toasts tasted better with stale baguette, I switched to muesli or another type of multi-grain bread when I need to use a freshly baked bread.
