Looks huge, love the color

I too was obsessed with this when in Rome - alas, I think trying to replicate it is not a great idea. I think it is one of the elements of magic that only Rome has - it's just part of the overall environment, the history, that just can not be reproduced in washes. Viva!

While I like the idea of re-purposing what you have & de-cluttering, I'm not a fan of the bay windown makeover - it looks so symmetrical (static) and busy, and the orange Eames is a great color partner to the green lushness.

Blame the carpet, but even so the off-center element is important.

Space out your stuff, yes.
I also think it is way too symmetrical. Symmetry is boring, static. I like the idea of making a longer shelf, allowing more room to breathe between element. They also make a very long shelf (LACK). Nice vases.

When we lived in Boston (Southie, specifically) this was a major deal. People would vandalize your car if you messed with their tattered lawn chair, paint bucket, or whatever they left to mark their spot. Not something I miss.

the idea of sweeping instead of enjoying the pre-coffee morning is unthinkable to me. I generally use this time to lie in bed and/or snuggle with small child.

we do the dishes every night & have 1/2 & 1/2 for coffee. the rest is divided labor, whenever the laborer sees fit to do their tasks.
