I have twins too. Two boys, one year old.
I'd also suggest a good nursing pillow, and also a good thing was the baby hammock.
Frankly, a friend brought loads of pampers and they were veeeerrryyy welcome!

Why do they have to see the TV? I find that very sad.
When we have kids over, we play games etc.

For those who are interested in life as a person, not only as a mother ;-)

Interesting! 3 Swiss cities, NO US city.

Well, I live in the Bahamas, so I cant't invite you over to Switzerland...

I am Swiss, and want to clarify something: Yes, we have little daycare, no dayschools (kids go HOME for lunch), etc, but that has to do with the country's structure. Most families used to have a great life and a lot of money although women did not work - most women were stay-athome-mums. This study rates this as "bad", which it isn't really bad for us fulltime-moms of course. Things have changed a little (divorced women need their own household, so the ex-husband's money split in two is not enough anymore, economy is not as good as it used to be). If Swiss women had the choice, many would just work little to get out of the house once in a while, but hardly anybody would want a fulltime job.
In Sweden, where I have many freinds, they kind of hold the state responsible for daycare and actually the upbringing of their kids. It is clear, that after a long maternal leave, you go back to work. Swedish people pay SO much taxes, that, even though they get free (opr let's say "paid in other ways) medical care and so on, they can sometimes hardly afford the clothes they're wearing. Every coin has its two sides.

Yes, the USA are "behind" in many things. How can a country be so proud of itself that does so little for its people?

I also have flip an use it very often. Just short clips, many not longer than 30 seconds. Sharing them is easy, especially if you have the software installed.

But what do you do if your kids are really young / small and don't understand reasoning / treats / etc?
Our twins are 10 months old and don't like it anymore.
Any advice welcome ... ;-)

PS: This works as long as babies are small and don't move too much. But then again, that's when you have to change them most often... You can always have pillowcases or something similiar later.

Also a good option: Take a heavier fabric, or a towel, and just lay it on the pad. If dirty, you can quickly take it away and put a clean one on using just one hand while you hold the baby in the other.

I'd rather say, in your country it would be forbidden to a) touch it b) let children get close to it. ;-)
Too many possible law suits. That's maybe the difference between Europe and the USA. Here in Europe, children are allowed to play outside without parental supervision, even in the woods, they get hurt a little once in a while because one of their projects fails or collapses and nobody is shocked and blames it on third parties, and children get to test their limits and feel their bodies. Also, we use less plastic and much more organic materials. With no labels or strings attached. ;-)

Our (twin) stroller lives outside, in the tiny garden house (and there is no place left for anything else).

I've got twins and therefore change nappies quite often. I use cloth wipes, too. Works much better! Only for the really heavy stuff I take disposable wipes.

Wash your wipes and reuse them - it's also good for the environment!
