Ugh. The steam mop specifically says in the instructions and on the box not to use on wood floors. I'm a landlord and if one of my tenants did this, relative or not, I'd charge them for getting the floors refinished. It would cost more than the security deposit so I would sue them for the rest.

Wood is delicate. And you are responsible for damage.

Own up to it and make it right.

"Concern trolls" just use their "think of the childrens!!!!!" stuff as an excuse to say bitchy things.

I'm really tired of people on forums in general, and this one in particular, being so alarmist and thinking that they are showing off what better parents they are than the photo submitters. Really.

If there is something truly egregious, fine, one poster say it one time and then move on. MOVE ON. Saying it over and over just becomes a dogpile of nastiness.

OMG won't someone THINK OF THE CHILDREN

Love this! We are putting in an offer on an old house - similar kitchen - with limited remodel budget. I told my husband I could do the kitchen for $500.

I think I have a plan now.

We are in similar situation with same concerns and plan to use either linoleum or marmoleum. We considered wool carpet but it was horribly expensive.

Flor may be made from recycled plastic, etc, but it's still plastic, still offgases and I'm still staying away. I priced their wool tiles and they are pricey, and I'm not sure about the backing on them, but they seemed like a decent choice if not for price.

We have cork in our current place and I don't think it will work for you if wood does not. It needs to be put down on perfectly level floor.

We have the tummy tub and our kid LOVED it - but it really only worked when he was a newborn. I would not say it was cheap - $50 for a bucket? I would never pay that - it was a gift. We can use it for mop bucket when the kids are grown.

The original bathroom had style and was memorable. The make over took a really remarkable room and turned it into a "meh". Not really something to be proud of.

Gold has such a 70s Halston / Diba vibe to me - I love it! I love brass! I'm slowly phasing out my silver & nickel (other than kitchen and bath)

GUILTY!

I got a wood baby gate that you can open and close (rather than having to take down or step over). I have an old craftsman house, and the wood on the gate almost perfectly matches the trim in my house. It was perfect, and I had never seen it anywhere else.
