This is very kool. What a wonderful place for their kids to grow up! The only thing I don't really get is it looks like the master bedroom is sticking out into the living room, and the living room is so cavernous because of the barn structure, I think it would be a lot cozier with a partial (hay)loft.

I like the concept and the accessories, especially the chalkboard and vase in the bedroom, but I think it could use just a little bit more of a finished look. The mattress on the floor for example just looks like she can't afford any kind of bedframe.
I agree with other posters-- I wouldn't be able to live here because I (and my cat and dog) would have it looking a lot more lived-in within about an hour, and also I do have all those icky things that go along with real life, like mail and coats and toasters and alarm clocks and lamps and laundry and mementos and books and art. But I WISH my home looked more like this.
I have a friend who lives a lot like this. But she doesn't cook at all, and she throws a lot of stuff away all the time to keep everything so minimalist.

Wow. I, too, registered just so that I could comment on this house tour. I cannot believe this woman is an interior designer; the place looks like it was decorated by a recent college grad without much money and way too much crap. Pictures leaned three deep against a wall? Chairs placed so close to the sofas there is room only to squeeze a leg through? Books piled on every horizontal surface in the place? Stark white walls? The only actual personality here is old pornography and random skulls. The pornography is offensive as hell, and the skulls (of which I personally am a fan as primitive art for their connection to animals and archeological vibe) are treated as silly oddities (really? a lightbulb in the mouth?) which is also offensive. The mannequin hand and fake human skull are things I would have picked out of someone's trash to decorate my dorm room with when I was 20. In fact they are similar to things I DID pick out of the trash and....etc. I threw them away when I moved out of my dorm room.
All I can say is I would never hire Laura. And stacks of books on every horizontal surface pictures 3 deep leaning against a wall aren't decor, they're an indication you have way too much crap and need to downsize if your home is about to be photographed for a magazine/ezine spread. I should know--I have the same problem, but at least I know enough to be embarrassed by it.
