Looks very nice. Love the black and white theme throughout. The old, dark wood is especially beautiful (and that rocking chair!)

What is the flooring for the outdoor living/dining room made of? Poured concrete? I'm looking for some inexpensive options to create a similar-styled outdoor "room" in my backyard.

I have total bathtub envy.

Also, I've always wanted to hang up a mobile - I think they can be so dainty and whimsical - but I haven't been sure how to make it work. The placement of yours is great though!

The switchplate covers, are they decoupaged? Love the look here. I've set about doing this with all the covers in my house, and I've loved the result. Really inexpensive way to add some detail to an element too oft neglected and, if you don't like it after a while, switching them out costs peanuts.

I am all about faux bois lately, with its borderline kitschness and all.

Might have to try this!

Love 'em all, but I'm especially drawn to the first one, with its classical lines.

Agreed, Elbie. I don't see any objectifying (except of that chocolate bar in the last image!)

I don't think I'd be able to have this in my house; it reminds me too much of real chocolate and I know I'd just find myself chewing on the furniture.

Love the array of butterfly prints. They go well with that "collector's" look you seem to have cultivated. I always find that striking a balance between displaying your possessions artfully, but not in a way that overwhelms, can be difficult, but you've toed that line very well.

Also, I think you've done a great job combining some very rich looking materials for a grand, but at the same time, cozy look. This house looks lovely, but at the same time not too artificed; lived in and loved. I too would like to see the kitchen though!

I am with you on the silk curtains. I was lucky enough to recieve four panels of silk dupioni which I've hung in my living room, and they give off such a sense of understated elegance without being overbearing.
