I haven't ventured into the drawing on my ipad yet, what sketching/drawing apps for adults are out there that are your favorites?

Love your house Emily, so creative and inspiring, just like your beautiful textiles and clothing! I love the attention to detail in every corner, nook, and cranny - and leaving the beautiful elements of the imperfect plaster to shine as a feature is brilliant. You look so beautiful too! -the other Emily (from CCAC)

We have the exact same layout in our bedroom, however our window behind the bed looks out onto a mudroom addition, so it really doesn't serve much purpose in the way of light (luckily we have a huge bank of windows on another wall). I really want to cut it out and reframe it so it's not there, but our budget and DIY skills are not up for removing part of an exterior plaster wall in an old house. I was planning to DIY a wood headboard to paint/wallpaper/cover that will sit in front of the window, it won't block all of the window, but it will help protect our heads from the hard sill that is right above sleeping heads, with a curtain on the window.

I love the feeling of this home, taxidermy and all! I love the indoor fire-pit, and also that the home remains an arts & craft vibe to it even though so much of the decor is modern.

This is the perfect advent calendar! I've been meaning to make one out of fabric, felt, and notions, for the last month, but haven't found an afternoon to devote to it. This one is almost more fun, because it is also a garland, and can be made in a couple of hours (at the most!).
Love it, thanks for saving me from failing to actually even have an advent calendar this year!

This is one of the best nursery's I've seen on Oddeedoh! It's so sweet, and special because it was made by hand with love (and with a budget)! The stove is adorable, the rug is adorable, the closet doors, such a nice touch.... love it!

This argument makes very little sense seeing as that the principles behind attachment parenting are intended to raise children to be more socially aware adults, who are more sensitive to others and there environments, and who are more confident in there beliefs, morals and ethics who can help to build a better world for everyone through these convictions.
If everyone raised there children with attachment parenting values, there would be less bullying, less violence, and in general more sensitivity in the world (and in the world of politics).
How can working to raise sensitive humans who are unfamiliar with violence, and more confident in themselves, have a negative impact on society?

Jack's adventures should be turned into a book, I'm looking at this post with my two and a half year old, and it's got us both so excited! Such a lucky little boy Jack is, wonderful story and pictures!

This is the coolest room ever! I'm curious to see more/know more about the pallets used to make furniture. I'd love to see some DIY ideas for using pallets, as Lumber Liquidators leaves them outside for anyone to take and use, and I'm dying to find a use/project for them.

Such serenity translated in the pictures. Beautiful. My parents both (separately) live off the grid (but with cell phone service, solar, and wells) and I admire the determination it takes to create such a peaceful, green life; Although with kids I'm not sure I would want to do it- I love taking my kids to the park, to play with other kids, for cultural and art activities, daily.
This way of life sounds like a dreamy way to decompress and perhaps should be a mandatory type of vacation for all city dwellers at some point in life (even if only for a month) to remember to slow down. I sure come out of visiting my parents moving at a slower, more centered pace, with an appreciation for simple pleasures and cadences.
