Nora - usually they have food safe glass paint at crafts stores in the paint section. I'm not sure what type of paint it is though

Dupont is also open year-round. In the winter it's smaller, but still a good place to get root veggies, cheese, bread, etc.

I purchased a very similar version of that duvet (in pale green) at anthro last year/2 years ago. It was on sale for $86ish. Totally worth it in my opinion - it has even made a trip or two through the wash and held up fine.

loved the house -
the reason I voted down a cupcake is this sentence: "Polly moved from a large house, and kept only her bed and the long table with a slate top, cut from a West Virginia quarry (the other is on the two urns in the garden)"

the parenthetical just didn't make sense to me - am I missing something?

That store. I LOVE that store. Stores like that store are what I miss about Boston. Sigh... Boston....

Anyway, I love that they have a mix of vintage finds and useful things (like super-strong magnet hooks)

when backpaking or staying in hostels a towel is key. While in Southern Africa i used a sarong and it served its (multiple) purposes perfectly. Kept me dry, kept me clothed, washed and dried quickly.

Jelly beans - the big old-fashioned kind. I'd use them to decorate a chocolate frosted cake (think blue, green, and pink stripes of jelly beans wrapping around the cake). Yummm

I like the lines of the DWR version better although the rare device version might be easier to hold: http://www.dwr.com/product/crow-bottle-opener.do

Also, it opens the bottle using the space between the tail feathers and feet rather than the beak, which took me awhile to figure out.

And one more Boston vote! I'd also be happy with a DC.

The form fits well with Method's philosophy. When packaging is square more units can be packed in a box and wasted space is reduced. This in turn reduces the number of shipments that a company must make, thereby reducing gas and emissions. Square packaging = environmentally sound.

But it can be a bit annoying in the shower.
