hilarious post about the dwarves!!! they are actually the only dwarves remaining from a set my mother had as a little girl. they're made of that weird rubber that is now hard and crumbly with age.

more answers to questions:

don't be skeert by the idea of clowns in my house...i use the term metaphorically and with great affection. "some clown (aka: fellow, gentleman, cur, bounder, fella) kicked off his shoes and is hanging out in my house..." I am the only gal in my house of man-cubs & hubby.

the darling bird pillows...are by

there were actually 5 to begin with...a yellow labrador i know has "retrieved" 3! argh.

paint througout house: once upon a time there was a color by benjamin moore called: sugar cookie. another one called cashew. these were my starting points. i cannot remember the name of the color i used this time.

more answers to your questions!!

-the painting over the mantel with the four blobby shapes (who's the artist?)--

my son, Preston. he created that when he 1st grade. He was working on it so intently...when we asked what it was, he looked at us and said..."it's four ninjas."
love that boy.

next quesiton:
would love to know where you got the orange throws and pillows with the floral pattern-

-these are my very favorite blankets in the world from a company called David Fussenegger http://www.davidfussenegger.com/ very reasonably priced, so comfy and machine washable. love 'em.

next question: counter material in the studio is (thick white one) and also a brief description on the cabinets:

counter in the studio is formica. plain old white home depot variety. i designed the cabinets to make the most use of the storage space under the eaves. i wanted lots of storage for art supplies. they were built by a cabinet maker and installed. i designed the cut outs for pulls. just about drove my contractor nuts when he realized i wanted a certain shape...and not just a perfect semi-circle.

Wanted to respond to those of you with questions:

the organgey couch: purchased about ten years ago...i think i ordered the couch from baker and i'm not sure, but i think the fabric is pierre frey???

the floors that look like stained concrete are actually a concrete resin overlay that was installed/applied directly on top of pre-existing white tile flooring. a company here in austin called Mungle Brothers did the work. It was a very affordable option compared to pulling up all the tile and putting something else down.

thanks for asking...

thanks for all your lovely comments! it's fun seeing your own home through someone else's eyes. I'm all about affordable art. My art as well as those people whose art i collect is typically anywhere from $50 on up. Especially easy to find at local independent indie craft fairs!
