Childhood is so fleeting, I LOVE that my kids enjoy playing in the bath! They have some PVC free bath toys, I try and keep them clean with vinegar. I have to say that it always amazes me how terrified people are about germs and such, which exist everywhere, all around us. While at the same time, these same people give very little concern about the toxic chemicals they use in a vain attempt to destroy all these germs. Life is short, have fun, be wise, do your best and try and relax. At least, that is what I try and tell myself.

I second rubyp3's post! check out the environmental working group's website to get detailed information about your areas water supply and which filters would be most effective. They are a non-profit independent watch dog group so they aren't selling filters or water, just providing useful information.

My kids have no "licensed characters" simply because they have NEVER asked for any, ever. When they don't spend much time in front of the television, kids really don't notice these characters much at all.

Love the elegant simplicity of the room.

We do a combination of toys in bedrooms and playroom. Although, far too many toys tend to make their way into mom and dad's room. In general, we try to keep more mellow toys in the bedroom like a dollhouse, table for drawing, and the books live in the bedrooms, as well. The playroom holds the toys they go wild with, and toys that we don't want the dog to eat (no dogs allowed in the playroom).
