AQUALIME - I hope to see your "tiny" in Small Cool 2013!
As for the dream dude--I may have found him (without a paint-by-numbers), but like your place it's still coming together...;). In an ideal world he and I will be entering 2013 or 2014's Small Cool in a bigger category (and probably without pink walls, but I'll live).
Speaking of which, the name is Benjamin Moore "Voile Pink 2000-70."
Thanks again for all your support!

@DINALOVE2369: Thanks so much Dina! Of course, come on over some night this week! Your place looks awesome when I've had a peek so I wanna see your place too!
xoxo, Diana

@aqualime: Thanks so much for the super-sweet compliments! I've been getting so much pink hate (yet that purple rabbit hole is getting tons of acclaim(?)--go fig!), and watching apartment after apartment jump ahead of me in votes, that your compliments are a real shot in the arm. Thanks so much for getting what George and I are putting out there--a happy home that was slowly built with a super low budget over 12 years from flea markets, craigslist (second-hand ikea!), ebay, and cheap internet finds. There is nothing from Design Within Reach in the place.

P.S. Speaking of favorite colors and your moniker: the scheme of my off-camera water closet is a super pale acqua/turquoise. It would have been included if it weren't for that pesky 5-photo limit....

Hey everyone,
Thank you so much for all of your interest and feedback! Here are some responses to your comments:

RE: THE KITCHEN

@GRAPEVINE: No theft is necessary, I assure you! I got those paint-by-numbers Boston Terrier paintings on eBay 10 years ago (Sidenote: I used to be obsessed with paint-by-numbers paintings, and I have a bunch more in storage thanks to that phase). I bet you can still find some on eBay or elsewhere on the internets.
In fact, the lime green/chartreuse scheme of my kitchen, upon which so many of you have so kindly complimented, was dictated by these paintings. They were the first items I bought when I moved into this apartment (I was in love with Boston Terriers, and planned to get one someday; I did, 3 years later--my precious George). Everything else in the kitchen was acquired after, to match. For example...
@EMILYB: I picked up those green chairs in a flea market a couple of months after I got the paintings, for $30. I have no idea where they came from, it was one of those moments of divine flea market luck.
@RANDIMICHELLE: That knife block used to be plain wood--I painted it green. There are a few things in the kitchen that I painted to go with my green/black/white color scheme.
@LEMONDROP: I agree, it is a shame I had to cover up my non-working fireplace. If my apartment had a different layout and/or more space, I would fill it with candles and use it like a fireplace. Alas, given the layout of my apartment, I felt the best use of the space was to go for an eat-in-kitchen, a rarity in my East Village neighborhood, and then make use of the empty space for book storage. Thanks to @PI and @MISSMEEX for anticipating my explanation.

RE: THE PINK
I love that my apartment has ignited discussion on the merits of pink walls! I totally understand that they are not for everyone, but as a single chick who hopes to someday domesticate with a dude, I had to seize my opportunity to put my favorite color on my walls (I'm with you, @MJS7640).
@MKONAR: As @ROBEACH remarked, painting the doors and doorframes pink was necessary; with my first pink paint job, I kept the trim white and it visually broke up the space. In 325 square feet, you need to paint everything the same color so it all fades into the background and tricks your eyes into think the space is bigger than it is.

Thanks again, everyone! I truly appreciate the feedback.
