This article makes me believe that perhaps they're a bit shorthanded on writers! So I'll throw my hat into the ring. Contact me at infinitenever (at) gmail.com and we can discuss the best way I can provide you with timely, accurate and relevant articles.

Modernguy, show me a $20 million super lotto that has a $1 per ticket price point and also has odds of 1 in 37,000...and I'll buy as many dollar tickets as they can print.

I sold a cloth Klippan sofa on Craigs for $325. What worked for me was lots of extras (I threw in two sets of pillows and the black cover), staged photos (not a pic of the couch on the lawn, but in a clean room with complementary items all around) and lots of info. I probably could have asked more, people kept calling for like a month, until finally I had to figure out how to delete the listing.

Wish selling a wedding dress was this easy.

I actually like this. The picture window needs some sort of covering, but once that happens and some appropriate furniture is added.

As far as honoring the original style of the home...A lot of the houses I've been looking at were built in the late 70s and the 80s. If this means that I'm going to have to get shag carpeting, decorate in seafoam grey and light pink, or hang border wallpaper, I'm going to take a pass. There's no reason the inside of the house should be slave to the outside, or to the era it was built in. Not everyone who likes the modern aesthetic can afford a loft downtown. Sometimes what we can afford, and what is practical for our family sizes, length of commute, etc. isn't our first choice.

Personally, if I found a living room like that in one of the houses I was looking at, I'd be overjoyed. No filthy, aged carpet or builder's-grade berber to rip up, and no obnoxious red-brick fireplace to constrain my color choices. I would paint the walls and the beams, though.

I like the remodel! In response to those who are saying it's too busy, though, I have to agree. But it's no fault of your own- this is WAY too small a kitchen for someone who appears to like to spend as much time cooking as you do. How do you stand it?! I'm getting ready to move out of my apartment based on kitchen size issues alone.

Wow, almost NO storage space in either the kitchen or bathroom. I like the way it looks, but am afraid it'd be completely unrealistic.

Does this work for people with REALLY long hair? Mine's almost down to my butt, has been dyed, and is frizzy. Also, it flakes. Not sure if no-poo will make it look better, or just exacerbate the problems.

Definitely. More one room on a budget posts- not all of us can realistically afford what we see in the palatial, 3,000 sq ft NYC lofts.

Tribune Lofts downtown has hardwoods and polished cement floors. Also, a lot of them have whole walls comprised of windows, which considering the view is a huge selling point.

Not sure whether you work downtown, but if you do, there's a complex I looked at in downtown Sand Springs called Crescent Lofts that are a little less expensive, feature ACTUAL hardwoods (not Pergo) and have stainless appliances and countertops.

If you've got a lot of cash to throw around and want to live somewhere REALLY posh, there's always the Philtower Lofts...

You don't happen to be in Tulsa, do you? I had the same problem when I moved out here, but there are places around. If it's applicable, I can suggest a few places I know for a fact offer hardwoods.

Not outstanding. Refrigerator too cluttered, patio sort of disjointed. Need more unifying elements.

A couple of your pictures are a bit crooked. That's the only constructive criticism I can offer. You've succeeded in making the ubiquitous white IKEA shelf look good, and that's no small feat.

It's obvious you've got a great grasp of color theory. Bravo!

I don't find the bed or the water bottles sexy, either. I think the bedroom needs more dark colors to anchor it. And the water bottle problem could be easily solved. All of my cabinets are doorless, and I've had a lot of luck with small tension rods and vintage placemats cut to size and sewn to themselves to form a pocket for the rod.

This isn't Oprah, folks. Constructive criticism can turn this year's losing entry into next year's winner. As long as it's done with good intentions, what's mean about that?

This could be a contender in the Small Cool contest, but not the Fall Colors. There isn't any real mastery of color shown here. You have nice taste in furniture and a good sense of proportion, but if anything I'd say your use of color is the weakest link here.

File these photos away, then resend in six months or so when Small Cool comes up.

And stick a burnt orange rug under that dining table.

You say you use bright orange, tangerine, grey, slate, metallic siler and metallic burnt orange, but I see beige, beige, beige. If you own your home, why don't you take some risks? Cut back on the number of removable decals and try some paint. The decals are cool, but you've got a bit of an overload issue here.

Also, you might consider craigslisting your sofa. The one you have now is way too big for the space, and you can see where everybody's butts and legs have been. Maybe a curvy black loveseat, or a couple of bright green club or slipper chairs would look good here, with a vintage lamp either on your end table or or a standing lamp between two chairs if you choose to go that route.
