This is beyond stupid. We should instead require everyone to fart into a plastic baggie and seal it up real fast lest the methane gets into the atmosphere. Remember, methane is 20 times more potent than CO2 in its greenhouse impact! Better yet, we should connect everyone's rear to their nostrils via a tube so that they be required to inhale all the methane they produce. Now that's what I call sustainability! Wow, this isn't just beautiful, but obnoxiously so! Amazing for an apartment this small. Fortunately, your apartment has a nice floorplan with lots of wall space that allows for that kind of separation. Still, I'm incredibly envious. Thumbs up! Thanks for all the comments! The door is the door to the Walk-in-closet and when it needs opening, I just move the chairs. Same goes for the stove. I have a very difficult space as there is no physical separation of the kitchen from the living space. So things do get moved around for various purposes when guests come for just some wine, or there is a dinner party, or I'm just sleeping. I absolutely love this apartment. Major apartment envy. Having said that, however, what are we evaluating here? Is it whether the people were able to afford an apartment that had nice fixtures put in by the builder? Or is it that they were able to use a challenging space to make it much more livable. Again, I think this apartment is gorgeous and the owners certainly did a great job to make it warmer and more inviting than all that glass would otherwise indicate. But, let's step back and evaluate it in the context of the amazing floorplan (which was, I assume, the builder's decision), the top of the line and beautiful appliances, and the stunning windows that allow for amazing views and terrific sunlight. Landlords are going to see a comeuppance in this environment and for good reason. They're raising rents, causing businesses to close, but in this environment, they'll get nothing. I can't imagine who would rent that space for $14K a month. Good luck to the landlord, but he just made a really really dumb move. After RMBS, CMBS will be the next shoe to fall and commercial lease landlords are going to feel some serious, serious pain. Apartment Therapy New York | Openings/Closings: Depression Modern RIP |

I own an American Upholstery/Leather (Room and Board sells their sofas under the name "Comfort Sleeper", and in NYC, go to Scott Jordan) Comfort Sleeper and use it as my regular bed for every night. For the first year or so, it was fantastic. Amazingly comfortable and no bars that I could feel. Afterwards, however, the high density foam got pushed through the slats underneath that make up the bed fold-up mechanism and the bed became unbearable to sleep on. Having said that, there is a 5 year warranty and Scott Jordan (the licensed reseller) has agreed to replace the bed portion of it for me free of charge, under the warranty. I would say buy, but be careful. Buy only from a licensed reseller (Scott Jordan is great) and keep all receipts. Apartment Therapy New York | Top 10: Sleeper Sofas / Sofa Beds |

I love how all of the choices in the poll assume that EVERYONE agrees with your basic premises (consumerism is bad). Because no one intelligent would EVER be one of those gross obese consumerist neanderthals from the suburbs. Like, eww.
