Lady J, you're right on the mark, whether you realize it or not! I wish I could remember exactly who did the study, but several years back it was determined that children react even more strongly to color than adults do. Calming pastels and muted colors are best for children's bedrooms, while stimulating bright and primary colors are the worst possible choice. 1. Two in one day (in the old apartment): The Unfortunate Sugar Moment was followed closely by The Tragic Peppercorn Incident. All over the kitchen floor, which was peel-and-stick "sculptured" crap tile. Never, ever put that... well, anywhere, but especially not in a kitchen. I love my two cats dearly, but with two clients who are crazy cat ladies, I've been inundated with cat stuff every birthday and christmas since I started working for them. Yes, clients, I adore your cats almost as much as my own, and I'm happy to cat-sit when you're away, but I do not want my own cat stuff collection. I'll *cough* admire *cough* yours from afar. I think regular "brain drains" are healthy, but I already use my (paper) journal for this. It started out as just a record of my day, but now I throw in everything: ideas for projects, to-do lists, random musings, gift lists, etc. It's interesting to look back months (or even years) later to see what was going on in my head/life, and you can't do that with a dry erase board (my only objection to this idea). ChristineBadina, I didn't get "temporary" in any sense except, perhaps, that the cottages are used until families can return to their pre-Katrina homes, or find other permanent housing. After that (someday), surely the cottages will still be available for anyone wanting a smallish space. I can't imagine that they'd be torn down.
