Yeah, the Carrie Bradshaw one is way flawed. Her bed was near the front door, and her writing desk was at a window near the bed. Still fun - but needs more verisimilitude.

Pschmidt, the bedframe is also from CB2, though I bought it 5 or 6 years ago, so they (unfurtunately) don't carry it anymore. (Which is too bad, as I love it and would love to upgrade to a Queen sized now that I have room.) Room & Board has one that's very similar, though not so low to the ground.

Seemingly destined to be always-a-renter-never-an-owner, I learned awhile back that a great way to personalize a space or to (inexpensively) improve the look of a place was to change out/upgrade a room's switchplates. My current roommate thought I was nuts obsessing over the selection in our local Lowe's - but he was eating crow once I installed them. He couldn't believe what a difference getting rid of the cheap plastic switchplates made in our newly-painted place. (Especially since the landlord's painters couldn't seemingly remove or tape them off before they painted so they were all edged with painted roller marks! Ugh.)

This post is a great idea, too. May have to do something like this when I re-do the home office next month!
