Is it just me, or anyone else hate a stove in the island look? First, you always have to keep it clean, since everyone is sitting around it and bound to notice. Second, i have yet to see an exhaust fan work well above an island range. Third, I just don't like the aesthetic.

Scotchguarding is no longer allowed. Besides being super-toxic, it damages the ozone layer and therefore has been banned. Best thing to do: blot any liquid with a baby wipe ASAP.

I like that the owner can express his creativity without the thought process of "resale, resale, resale." That being said, I hate the wall-to-wall carpeting in Liam's room and the cinderblock in the bathroom

this feels so strange - I actually feel melancholy when I looked at the first 5 photos and decided not to go on. I wonder if it's all the monochromatic grey going on.

Agree with the first comment by trygve. I would enver live there though. 100% windowns like this give me the creeps. Especially the bedroom floor. And doesn't it get cold in the winter??

are you crazy? we spent days removing the paint from our slate fireplace. it's so tasteless to have a painted one, unless it's plain white. and I'm pretty sure your LL would not approve.

I think it's great to have an empty space. I don't understand how ppl can hsve stuff, especially a mirror, hanging right over their heads. It could totally fall on you while asleep! No thanks!

the space looks nice for 2 adults. I truly don't understand the no rug look. I mean, the ground is hard and you have a soon-to-be-toddler. Does it ruin the aesthetic so much to have some rugs???? Second, that bassinet amy look cool but it will be the pits once that kid can sit up on his own. babies hate not being able to do something they're trying to master, and this "bassinet" will certainly cause a struggle.

I am so back and forth on this subject. Do I get the Kenmore that was highly rated by Consumer's Digest (but slammed by many of their readers) or do I break down and get the Miele Mango??? Can I rationalize paying $800 for a vacuum? Aren't we entering into a recession? yet, I want an effective vacuum that will not break down. Aghhhhhhh!!

haha, french manicures are O-U-T out, or didn't you know? Tres tacky. The saop dispenser is great, if a little pricey.

they are religious nuts. cool stuff, but definitely expensive. if you're in the market for old-school door knobs etc. why not check out brownstoner's Brooklyn Flea (market) starting 4/6? there will be vendors that won't charge an arm for identical merchandise. see

Great job - looks like there's a lot of lvoe poured into the house. You're lucky you didn't ahve to strip the fireplaces or the radioators...or did you? messy job. The ourdoor planters look great and makes the place so inviting.

Some nice rugs would really warm the space up. i really wonder why some people opt to only have bare floors. Not only cold for feet or paws, but sort of cold looking as well.

I wouldn't even consider a dyson, they're so damn heavy, you'd break your back in about 10 minutes. I think I have to bite the bullet and purchase a miele, trying it out the store demonstrated what a great job it does, but the price kills me.
