Fake plants. Even the nice ones. If you don't want the real thing, just do without it. (In my opinion, of course:) Ew, I Can't Stand That! Design Allergies |

I feel the same exact way about not wanting to assign a label to myself. The word "Foodie" means very different things to different people, and once you have branded yourself by some term, that is all people seem to remember. I eat a predominantly vegetarian diet but whenever I am asked if I am a vegetarian I always say "no." I do not like the pressure and judgements that are tied to labels. I just like food. :) Are You a Foodie? Or a Culinarian? |

My name is Kari too! I would definitely try making it yourself...not too complicated once you get the hang of it and it will surely be cheaper than ordering sushi in the mail (if you can even do that?) Can You Recommend a Mail-Order Sushi Company? Good Questions |

My dad THREW AWAY his Eames lounge chair and ottoman when it broke. I am sure it could have been repaired, but at the time he did not realize what he was tossing (and neither did I, as I was very young). Sigh. I Can't Believe My Parents Got Rid Of (Insert Item Here)... |

Olive oil ice cream? I am trying to imagine what that would taste like. I am currently doing a research project for my university about ice cream. I was also thinking of dusting the dough with flour- it works for choc chips and blueberries in muffins but the dough may still be too heavy for a flour coating to make a difference. hmm Sweet and Crazy Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookie-Stuffed Yellow Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing |

In the piece Maxwell wrote recently in which he shared tips for a good night's sleep- eating light in the evening was among them. I agree with this, as I feel significantly worse in the morning if I ate a large meal or even a small one too close to bed time. I have read a few places that table salt inferior to sea salt or kosher salt because it is so processed and therefore not good for us. However, I am not sure why this would be, or if it is true. I just got the Cuisinart shown above for Xmas. So far I have used it to puree sweet potato and black beans (separately) and it worked great! The stick part detaches for super easy and quick cleaning.
