You can also get them at Matter in NYC and on their website: mattermatters.com. We got them from them a couple of months ago. :)

Don't use a knife on the halves after you slice and score them (or don't even bother scoring them). Just eat them out of the mango with a teaspoon or spoon. The curved spoon gets more of the fruit that way. Then get a fork for the pit, and press the pit between the two middle tines of the fork to secure it. You can then peel the remaining skin off it and eat the remaining fruit flesh like a lollipop. It works, although depending on the size of the pit and how firmly you plant it in the fork, it can still get messy. This is the way we've always done it in the Philippines, where the mangoes are far superior to anything I've ever tasted in 20 years here in NYC.

I wished it was a bit more pure yellow - it's definitely a softer, saffron-y yellow bordering on ochre in reality/at the stores.

Had so damn much trouble with that loathsome Karim bottle, couldn't dispense soap without herculean efforts that were best put into scrubbing pans. Haven't had any problems with this new bottle so I'm surprised to hear these reviews. Oddness.

I love them. They're a perfect counterpoint to more traditional shapes, and kinda trendy with the new design movement for faceted furnishings.

I found the Nelson chair to be quite comfy, plus there's a lot more lyricism to the design of the seat. However, I already have my swag of choice: the Gubi chair with swag legs, in bright yellow wool. Can't resist a good color!

I'd buy this bookshelf. Especially if that guy came as a gift with purchase! :P

The newer versions seem rather squared out, and I might be mistaken, but they didn't seem to recreate what looks to be welted seams on the originals, which would account for the sharp edges.

Ah well, as long as the owners are happy with it, that's what counts. They're beautiful chairs nevertheless.

It's a great idea, and one that I gravitated to when I saw it two ICFFs ago. Unfortunately, the sample they showed had rather spotty workmanship. I hope the production pieces are much improved.

It's fun to watch food prep programs anytime. But I echo the sentiment of the other poster who mentions that since it doesn't really need to be viewed too sequentially, it's fun to watch. Food porn! We all want to make delicious things. Plus, exercise always gets the appetite going anyhow...!

I love bok choy, and we all cook it very similarly, it seems. I love it sautéed in olive oil with garlic and some fish sauce to season, with a dash of sesame oil thrown in a minute before serving. This recipe works well with napa cabbage too.

Ohmigod, RJD - chicos! We had a tree in our yard too and I never ate the fruit, although our girls would always climb the trees (much to my fear that they would fall and land on our cement driveway) to harvest the fruits. I always got them confused with santols, which were also small and brown.

Hah! Carol, that was exactly what I was thinking - I'd be wary to recommend any of my upholsterers until this thing checked out for bedbugs, lest my own work at their places be infected! ;)

Yeah, I love this screensaver. I've had it for several years and it makes the monitor part of my furnishings, as opposed to an item on its own.

So, when and where do you add the rest of the lemon zest and parsley? It doesn't say!

I'd suggest playing up the green if it's as nice as the jpeg makes it appear (a turquoise-y/minty shade always seems watery and fresh) and use it the accent color. I understand feeling like the toilet doesn't match, but perhaps adding a black enamel seat could make it match the tiles instead. It's like dressing up: your shoes and bag don't have to match each other, but they can match other parts of your outfit.

In my own bathroom I used turquoise as an accent color because my shower curtains are turquoise, so I added little touches that play it up and make it intentional by repetition - my towels are the same shade, and I even got a decanter and filled it with mouthwash in the same shade, as well as finding similarly turquoise liquid hand soap in a clear pump.

I wonder if the popularity of DWR and similar catalog/internet sales-driven furniture stores took a hefty chunk out of their clientele? What clientele wasn't annoyed and rebuffed by the apparently rude salespeeps, that is.

I found the Shade Store online after seeing an ad in the back of a magazine. They were great, and produced the exact look I was looking for, in just a week, and ordering it through the site was extremely simple and efficient. I highly recommend them - great customer service, and amazing packaging!

Oh, and the lamp is called the Switch On Floor Lamp. I'd been hunting down the tri-arm version for two years after seeing it in the Conran catalog in 2004 (when it was only available in the UK), and finally got at 2006's ICFF. FYI, the tri-arm is now available at Conran in the US:
