The little stove in #3 would have trouble coping with all the people sitting at table in #4. Why not go for a range, like an Aga or Rayburn? and I'll stick with my linen bedding thank you - stronger and more traditional than cotton... We travel a lot for work, on tight schedules, and virtually all the time I'm in the hotel room, I'm asleep! The only thing I care about is to be able to open a window for some real air - often not possible. My office is 30" x 69" ( it's an old entry porch, enclosed), and my desk is 30" x 13". Not really big enough, but at least it's out of the way. The downside is I have no place for files, no system, and rely on memory and computer records to track orders etc. It's getting more complicated week by week... I want to be elpox! Thank you for all the comments on my headboard and my Rough Linen bedding! I'm chuffed! Mandakate, the headboard couldn't be easier as long as you have a good source of driftwood. I collected for quite a while, and thought about it a lot, then one day leaned it against the wall to place each piece then whacked away with my nail gun. There is no wood below mattress level, mainly because I wanted the bed as tight to the wall as possible, and also some of the pieces weren't very long. I add to it every time I find something interesting. If you're asking how talented you have to be to create the linens - very! : ) I have a Maine coon and haven't noticed an extra cat fur problem - and it is very tough, withstands one client's Newfoundland! It softens too: that picture was of a very new duvet cover with the characteristic post-wash 'treebark' texture, gone after a couple of nights. SO pleased to see one of my driftwood headboards (#7) posted up here and looking very manly with the Rough Linen bedding (www.roughlinen.com). Didn't do it with my bare hands though - I used a nail gun, it took about fifteen minutes start to finish and was absolutely free. Comfortable too - the knobbly bits are all above head level, and the only fallout is an occasional barnacle. I have the Artemis fan in the living room and it is soooo stylish - but the cheap Home Depot one in the bedroom is much better now that I have painted its fake wood blades off-white and put galvanised gutter protectors over its nasty shiny bullet lights. Home theatres don't HAVE to be poncey, or expensive, but they are wonderful. We got our projector from Costco, after a lot of experiments sold our expensive screen on eBay and bought a white blackout blind in a custom size, and feel horribly smug about the whole thing.
