That looks like a Dansk tea kettle we had when I was little. Good score!

Thanks for the great photos, Kristin! I haven't been to this store in a few years, so I'm quite pleased to have a peak inside. It is definitely my favorite housewares store in the UK. I like that the owners have a distinct point of view, and it's not what I'd classify as a trend based shop. I also think The Cross in Notting Hill is quite good. Any chance you'll be going there anytime soon? :-p

I think it's too much. I just painted my small, darkish den Farrow & Ball's Yellow Ground and I must say it looks a lot like your Clicquot color. I found it to be too overpowering, and like you said at night it's too orange...my fiance absolutley hated it at night. I've decided to go in the opposite direction and try to achieve a light and airy effect with a softer color.

Best of luck!

This is a pretty good shop...slightly hard to find though. There's another store in London called "Mint" that's really amazing...it would be great to see photos from that shop as it can be quite inspirational.

I have a small Black and Decker which is bagless...I believe all of their hand-vacs are, anyway it works like a charm and I don't have to deal with bags.

In terms of Electrolux products I just thought I'd add that imho they've really gone downhill since their heyday...my family used they're vacs for generations. These days I'd rate Miele as the best out there...I wonder if they make a hand-vac?

^ Right. Those rail-trails are made possible by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.

It's really wonderful to see these abandoned rail lines turned into green spaces for everyone to enjoy!!

Do you mind sharing your resource for the window planters in the kitchen? Thanks in advance.

^^^^White is a color too.

I love the lighting---how did you make the place glow? I see a few lights on the floor, but are there any other secrets you'd care to share about how to create this effect?
