These may be out of print but worth the effort to find... Albert Herbert Hawkins - the Naughtiest Boy in the World, Charmed Life, Olga Da Polga series. Current books- my kid adore the Olivia, the Happy Hector and the Charlie and Lola series', and any Little Critter book. And any well illustrated children poetry compilations. Bear Stays Up is a nice Christmas one.

The local Ikea is displaying, in its kids rooms, their PS Pendant lamp. They have it filled with thier tiny stuffed animals. It is a clear bucket, with a central light. It is not as wild as this one, but it is a light used as a display of trinkets. It was cute enough to catch my eye, and it is only $40.

Or you could just wipe them off on the side of your jeans, or the hem of shirt that they just spit up all over, or just kind of brush it with your fingers and blow the fluff off, or dip it in your older kids Nalgene bottle and give it a good shake. Or even, in a real pinch, use a diaper wipe.... um, not that I have done any of these.

Our daycare does this. They use a variety of bird seed mixes. The textures of the different mixes varies quiet a bit. It goes into the bird feeders afterwards. They also do sand, but some days it is that crinkly paper Easter grass, or lots of long bits of yarn, or balled up tissue paper. Those are not so much for shoveling, but great for hiding little dinosaurs in, or plastic bugs, rubber ducks or of what ever the weeks theme is. What ever they use often shows up the next week in an art project. The kids love it.
