Simply in ice water. Like you might use mint, but basil is a nice twist. I pinch off a big piece toss it into a mason jar full of ice water. uh... my plants need to grow faster so I can start using them more!

Yes, yougrowgirl is an excellent resource for beginners. Re Nest also does a wonderful job with posts on gardening. I am an urban gardener, and I grow primarily vegetables and some flowers (in my front yard and back). I have found a tremendous amount of information on www.blotanical.com.

That is a site specifically for garden blogs. You can search the garden blog community for what you’re looking for- there is so much information and inspiration. Happy Gardening!

I love this. I just put a branch up in the bathroom with my jewelry on it. Also, I needed extra clothes hanging space, so I brought a larger branch in and hung it from the ceiling. I posted in December about how I used a branch to display my grandmothers Christmas ornaments.

I like to use them to control my daughters art supplies. Crayons, paint brushes, and scissors all look neat in these little matching tins. I agree- they are way to pretty to recycle!

I think shredded paper would be great in the garden- especially if you have some hard working worms (like the red wigglers) in your compost pile!
